Kirke played well against Halifax and scored 2 tries in the CC but has had a very poor injury prone season.

No mention of injuries by BS so it must be lack of form. Its a real shame as Trinity could do with all their players firing on all cylinders. ..hope he proves people wrong in the middle 8s and if given the opportunity plays really well.

Didn’t he wriggle out of coming to us a couple of years back, then when his time was up at Leeds he begrudgingly rocked up at B.V.

He was available the other week but not selected. Maybe BS wants to develop and improve players with the right attitude. We have shipped a few players out already but maybe we are keeping hold of him just in case

Kirke was appalling against Hull FC, admittedly in the back row, and given we've signed a gazillion forwards I'm not surprised he's no longer getting a look in.

When you speak to him ask him how professional he has been in rehab ( that has been all season ) and ask him how these mystery injuries occurred. As I say he should have been sacked.

I would - but he's never done that in his entire career, so there's no reason to think he'll start now; he's a massive lump, but has never seemed particularly inclined to use it.

Yes of course I would. My point is do you or anyone else criticising him actually know he is fit to play? Also, even if he is fit to play it's surely the coach's call as to inclusion in the squad isn't it?

I cannot really see the club allowing a player who is fully fit refusing to play - isn't that what is being inferred?

He got hooked before half time during the win against Hull FC. It followed him missing 2 tackles that lead directly tries. He hasn't been seen since. I would say this is the role of the coach to say whether he picks someone. That didn't cost us that game and nor should his non selection impact any other of our games! Now back to today...

As someone else pointed out its a mystery as to why we pay the likes of Kirke and Tansey yet we won't spend a quid on other aspects such as marketing.

You can't just decide to stop paying someone.

Listening to the BS interview, it would seem only Kirmond, Locke and Howarth are unavailable for selection. Like Poptart says, you can't just stop paying someone, he is part of the squad and not being selected, which is hardly surprising given his performances when he has played?? Kirke was knackered when we signed him when will we learn same with Ali great player but Kirke should have never being signed Ali should have being released end of 2013 We let decent players Ferguson Kay Walshaw Pitts go and sign old men and average overseas players it does not work
