We were ok in the first 40 but, badly ran out of steam in the second half, allowing Cas to speed up the ruck and dominate.
Pauli is just a show pony. Happy to take the glory with ball in hand but a passenger in defence and our left edge was just mullered.
There is a problem here, which has been the same for 3-4 years but, last night, it was embarrassing.

Cant remember if it was 3 or 4 of their tries all scored in exactly the same fashion, plus a couple of decent scrambles to prevent tries.
It wasn't that we were being moved around too much, just mickey poor.

I really dont see where our next win will come from and should we lose to KR and London, I think we are going to be in The Championship next season.
This is not being over dramatic, it's an absolute fact and from where we started the season, with realistic hopes of making the play offs, it's gut wrenching.

Two wingers will be out for a start. Neither looks like they give a cluck.

I reckon the wingers are getting fed up with being left with three players to tackle in defence, having a fresh and keen defensive line to charge into when the forwards aren't ready to take the ball and getting horrible passes that they either have to catch around their head or are almost falling in to touch to get the ball.
For me the wingers are getting mistreated by their team mates.

MCB I am prepared to offer a bit of slack. However BJB is now finished. He makes no go forward, cant remember ast time he made a break. But most of all in the second half last night he got the ball with a clear run to the line and the cover had him within 20 yards. He has lost his pace and now looks less than ordinary now its gone. Retirement time for him .

We have BJB for another year no SL team will want him & he won't move down to the Championship saying that he might have to

Well i have just watched the game back on Trinity TV having missed the game Live. Really not what i was expecting to see.

Lack of effort ? No. In my opinion we certainly matched Cas there.
possession? No. Again we seemed to have at least 50%
Wingers? No. Both of them were left high and dry all night.

What Castleford had that we did not was 2 set plays that they had practiced and executed well.

1. "The Powell move". Yes, the one that they run EVERY TIME we play them that nets at least three tries a game against us ! (CC clearly has no idea how to defend against it?)
2. A well positioned Kick in the air and then seriously contest the catch.

We have 0 set plays and that is why we rely on individual bits of magic to score points, or rely on capitalising on scraps.

the coach has obviously lost the dressing room- the players are no longer playing for him.

he would be hurting because he is a wake y lad ,but this will be his last season in charge unless something drastically changes if in fact he makes it that far. On thing for sure he cares about the team and town.Its a shame the players don't seem to care anymore

Can’t see MC sacking Chester and personally I think he has shown previously that with the right assistance he can create a competitive and entertaining brand of rugby.

Regarding the two "bombs" that Rankin scored from, having seen them back, our so-called defence just stand there and watch him run through and out-jump Rocky, not one of them runs across to give him any protection whatsoever. I'm fairly sure that this sort of thing will get coached at schoolboy level ??
