| The players have more of a social media precense than anybody, surely getting them on board should be one of the priorities? Hazard a guess that any of the first team squad has got probably more followers than the rest of us combined so a little bit of promotion by them will raise awareness no end.

| Has anyone recieved this through the post in the past couple of days, It's a questionaire from the Labour party, allbeit the national Labour Party. It is called "Labour wants to hear from you""
Question 4 is "What is one thing you would like the Labour Party to do in order to change the country for the better"
How about get rid of councils like Mr Box and his Labour cronies.
Whatever, it's yet another platform should anyone recieve this questionaire.

Just had a look, as someone who only takes a passive interest in local politics, why has Normanton got three labour councillors in it's ward? I thought there would be one for each party up for election each time.
That's a half dozen E mails sent.

| Now here's an interesting twist; I sent that email to all my councillors and have just received this from the Labour one, Mrs Masterson:
"Good Afternoon Mr,
Thank you for your email. I have passed this on to Cllr Box who is dealing with all queries relating to Wakefield Trinity and he will respond to you directly.
Kind regards
Lynn"
So it seems that Box has ordered all of his cronies to keep schtum and pass everything to him, so he can continue to fudge the issue!
I've replied with this:
"This was not a query in relation to Wakefield Trinity - whatever gave you that impression? It was in fact a query in relation to WMDC's failure to enforce the s106 agreement, which as the Planning Authority, I believe it has a statutory duty to do? As things stand, the Council has allowed a property developer to take 220 acres of green belt land out of that protected status, in return for a Community Stadium, but has failed to ensure that they delivered on that promise. The people of Wakefield have subsequently been robbed off vital community sports facilities.
However, I am not surprised to learn that Mr Box has ordered all correspondence to go to him - this will enable him to continue to whitewash the truth of the situation.
Thank you for your reply - but I'm afraid you've completely ignored all of the issues I raised and have therefore been of no help whatsoever.
Regards,"

He'll have got wind of it this morning and emailed them all to order that any annoying Wakey fans are to be directed to him; and right now, a minion will be copy/pasting some fudged standard response to all of us. Bent as a nine bob note!

| Latest fudge from Ms Masterson:
"My apologies Mr,
I assumed that when you mentioned Yorkcourt Properties and the community stadium you were referring to the future for Wakefield Trinity.
I shall pass on your email to planning officers to pass comment with regards to the S106 agreement.
Kind regards"
I've sent this in response:
"I imagine that's because Mr Box has falsely assumed that Wakefield Trinity are the only interested party to the undertaking, and advised you accordingly?
This is a much wider issue than the future of Wakefield Trinity, and involves WMDC's abject failure to ensure that the S106 agreement was enforced - denying the people of Wakefield the facilities that were agreed as a suitable trade-off for the planning gain achieved by YorkCourt during the public inquiry chaired by HM Inspector some years ago.
As I said before however, you appear to be in no position to offer any help or advice; you have thus far passed my first message to the council leader who has overseen this situation, and the second one to the planning officers, without making any actual comment on any of the issues I've raised.
What a shame."
I've also sent my original email to all the bigger hitters on Vasty's list - I don't expect much change out of any of them, but one hopes that if more do the same, it might make things awkward for Box & Co.

I have just sent my slightly edited version of the above letter to all of the people on Vasty's list as well as a couple of others. I included a link to the Daily Star article too so that they can read why we feel they have failed;
Good afternoon,
As a resident of Wakefield, I would be interested to know your position on the failure of WMDC to carry out its statutory duty as the Planning Authority, to enforce the s106 agreement with Yorkcourt Properties, in respect of a Community Stadium at Newmarket Lane, Stanley.
This agreement was made several years ago and since that time, Cllr Peter Box has publicly repeatedly denied that WMDC have any part to play in this and instead, that it is for the property developer and the Community Trust to resolve; I believe this to be untrue and am appalled that he is able to abrogate responsibility – particularly when the developer has benefited from 220 acres of Green Belt land. This situation has been made worse by the fact that WMDC have since allowed the developer to build the Newcold site there, without it contributing to the trigger point for the Community Stadium that the s106 agreement specified – a situation that was prescribed by HM Inspector, and supported by a 15,000 signature petition.
At a time when Wakefield is reported to have some of the worst sports facilities in the country, and a dreadful record around childhood obesity, I am in disbelief that WMDC and Cllr Box appears to have conspired with a property developer to rob the people of Wakefield of much needed community sports facilities.
I'm sure you've been able to read this recent report from the Daily Star but I have included a link which details the failings www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/footba ... tin-O-Neil
You may also be aware that Cllr Box has instructed all of the Labour Party members to ignore the issue and to forward any emails received directly to him so that he can continue to cover up the huge failings of WMDC when supporting sport and leisure in the district. The failure of WMDC to support a community stadium is just the tip of the iceberg, the closure of golf courses, swimming pools, and tennis courts adds to this worrying trend. Do you agree that the council's own policy to run down and close sports and leisure facilities will add to the rising obesity crisis, and that the addition of a true community stadium would help engage residents of wakefield in a more active lifestyle which could reduce costs on health services?
Regards,

| Great Work, Box is our enemy, his cabinet are scared witless to even hint at disagreeing with him. Would be interesting to know the view of Morecream Cummings who is a Trinity fan, has a room in the Benidorm flats and is a Cabinet member : So will be by definition one of Box`s sycophantic cronies but is also a Trinity fan, will she break ranks and tell the truth ...... do not hold your breath , I mean one of Box`s Councillors telling the truth will just not happen.

One is a Tory the other UKIP , however I would not hold out much hope as they will not be in the know.
All the labour councillors in wakefield are hand picked by Box . Anyone who shows any sign of being moderately bright could be deemed to be a threat to him and one day may ask him uncomfortable or intelligent questions. Therefore no one with any reasonable backbone or mental capacity will be allowed to stand as a Labour councillor.

| Yvette Cooper won't do anything it seems;
"The development referred to in your email lies outside of the Normanton, Pontefract & Castleford constituency that Yvette represents.
I am not certain in whose constituency you live but there is a strict convention against MPs representing those who do not live in the area that they represent.
As such can I advise you to get in touch with your local MP (or to get back in touch if you live in Yvette’s constituency) and I am sure they will look into this for you.
Best wishes
Gavin"

Please note, when sending correspondence to MPs or Cllrs, it is advised to at least include your postcode, I'm sure the first part (WF1...) Would suffice

| Also we have a new CEO at Wakefield, a lady called Merran McRae.
She was at Kirkless and one of her past posts was 'well being' director. She is very new so I can't find her e.mail link.
If anyone out there can, I am sure it would be interested to see what she thinks about the Star article.

I've already said I refuse on principle to email the UKIP one - but I did email the Tory; she has yet to reply.
FWIW - I've also had the response from Yvette Cooper's office stating that she can't deal with - but I have emailed Mary Creagh, who I think can, based on the rules they follow.

Regards,'"
Brilliant letter, might be worth forwarding onto the Wakefield Express along with any replies, see if they can get their finger out and do some reporting for a change;
