I'm nopt sure it is the kids we need on loan now.
We have the kids wioth potential and no experience already, we need some good old head pros to guide and protect in my opinion now

If say Maskill was to play hooker, or Goulding to play scrum half for the whole seaosn, we would have had a lot of seasoned pros helping them in, but we are lacking there now.
The pressure on the scrum half is going to be massive this year so he needs a strong front row with to protect him and a SO that can take the pressure off (Not sure if Sykes is that guy but at the moment he is)

So I'm all for bringing in potential but we need either players that can just step up, like a Clarkson or Powell or an old head like Horne or if we go over seas a player who has been running a lower level team rather than new kid on the block like Isaac John was

As for Aiton, now it looks like it is official, I wish him well. We got our money's worth out of him imho. Our play the ball speed may improve with others taking over but our defense will be less hurtful without him.

Its ok though, we've still got Vince Mellars.

Yes they paid but why is it now undisclosed. Is it less than previously stated with a player(s) loan included because I doubt we would want to keep it quiet if more. I note that the Boxing Day game goes ahead so is this part of the deal and will we have enough registered players to raise a team.

As for bringing in 6 loan players from Leeds no thanks we should develop what we have first. Wouldn't want to watch someone else's development squad players for them to leave when at a certain level. Think we need some sort of statement or update to where we are regarding if we have cut the budget enough or are more on the way out. How long will it be before players who havent thought about leaving might do so now. Being realistic if an offer came in as a squad player for a team I thought probably wouldnt finish in bottom 2 then I would seriously consider moving.

I don't think they have finished selling yet. What they don't realise is that to those supporters who don't follow the forum this is just another nail in the Wakefield coffin. I know several who won't renew their season tickets until they know what they are going to be watching.

I keep hearing rumours of more players leaving but they're just rumours. Hopefully we can try and buy a few players who could make our team half decent.

Can't really argue with that and I know several individuals who've said exactly the same.

That's their prerogative but by doing so they'll get the team their actions deserve.

No it is not the supporters who will decide the team but how well the board sells the club and what team they put together. At the moment leisure is not too high a priority to many people so why waste it watching a team lose every week. This is what the board must remember we are only one interest in a very packed leisure market. A lot will support the team regardless but even more will be selective.
I am tired of the "it's the supporters fault and they will get what they deserve" no it is up to the board to produce hope that will encourage ST sales all I see at the moment is the opposite.

I'll support whatever team we dish up in whatever league - I'm a die hard fan but we're talking borderline/newbies here who haven't supported the team very long & we're in danger of losing them.

It's not the supporters fault that we will end up with a garbage team, neither is it the guys who now have to balance the books to ensure there is a club to support, although they will need to be savvy with their recruitment. The fault lies squarely at Elston & Glovers feet for putting us in this position in the first place.

You don't want to be doing that because you will leave yourself open to quite a bit of negative comments.

No I don't blame them, but as a club without a rich backer they're aiding the demise of the squad by holding out. There is no wriggle room left financially with HMRC breathing down the clubs neck and unpaid bills still arriving the speculate to accumulate policy isn't quite as straightforward as some are making out.

Going by the level of season ticket sales it looks like we have already lost them.

MC said the playing budget that we were already up to was based on season ticket sales of 3K. I guess we will end up comfortably below that even given a run on them at christmas. There will be more departures shortly I would guess. The Kirmond rumours started up again at the weekend and he was also linked to Saints in this weeks league weekly. It going to be a tough couple of months.
