What do you suggest then - that we all stop having opinions, or just that we stop posting them here?

For me, we're at an interesting crossroads - the choice of Head Coach for the upcoming transitional period will be an indicator of where our ambitions lie. If we go for someone like Harrison, we'll be seen as accepting our ongoing status as a club that has no real aspirations to bother the top 8, but one that's happy to be plucky underdogs, picking up the odd win here and there.

Conversely, if we dig deep and secure someone like Gentle, WTW will look like an altogether different animal - we'll be demonstrating ambition, go-forward and modernity. Imagine us at NM with Gentle at the helm and Tony Drury as his assistant?

This is a vital appointment; if we get it wrong, the 3 year reprieve that AG and his team achieved for us will be utterly pointless.

And if we are gonna push the boat out financially for anyone the coach has to be high on the list for me

I don't know if he is being diplomatic or not, but Karl Harrison has said the rumours of him coming to Wakefield are rubbish.

The think is with Harrison is that he runs a successful business as well as coaching Batley and he would have to give that up to take over a Super League club.

And he goes home and away with Leeds United!

Wigan appoint new coach
new coach brings in his own assistant
SHAUN WANE becomes available

That would be good if we could get Shaun Wane but I think he will get the Wigan job.

Maybe karl [uHARRIS[/uon is nearer the mark

I think we should all calm down and wait for the appointment.

My money is on Ray French.

At least he won't need time to get up to speed with the height, weight and junior clubs of the players

how do you know hope you are right in what you say any clues as yet who the half back is

I haven't heard us being linked with too many halves yet.

We have got a real chance of making a statement to SL with this appointment, you only get one chance, we MUST get it right.

I agree entirely and I think that is why the club are taking their time over making an appointment so they can be sure that they have done all their research and we have the best person for the job.

our aim now is to improve the stadium as required, get the Newmarket stadium development up and built so we can move in

yes improve the team performances but most of all get a fan base that will stay loyal and not walk out when the going gets tough,
while I can see your point of view to make a stance do you not think that you end up undoing all the hard work done so far just because you disagree to a coach

coaches come and go clubs don't they are there for life

Whoever the new coach turns out to be, just like any player we sign, he deserves the chance to prove himself.

I've seen a few people put things on record over the past month that they haven't even managed to stick to for a week. (It seems it won't be Harrison, though, Bren, so your season ticket purchases look likely to continue.

I hope so - making a principled stand is easy when you don't have to deliver.

Maybe one of the other membership schemes is the way forward for you then, if the club don't deliver the coach you want?

The names listed were names asked to someone very close to the club. No idea who the half back is he just said we've got a good one signed up.

I know one or two what live close to the club, and they also have vivid imaginations but are just as clueless as the next bloke close to the club.

This man has major involvement within the club. He doesn't stand on the terraces on match days
