I think they meant top 6 in the Championship.

I wonder if we are bringing in players on two week loans in preparation for when we sign a dual registration agreement with a SL club.

I know it’s a finance thing, but….A fair few years since Wigan were in our position, they reasoned that they needed a mean prop and a new coach. They then signed Stuart Fielden and Brian Noble, they avoided relegation that season, it can be done. To speculate to accumulate is never more apt for us

You can't speculate if you don't have any money.

A lot of players have come and gone in just under 2 years! When CC left, we won those games under Poching at the back end of that season, then he was appointed properly, and most of those players left, deemed not good enough. This squad on paper isn't the worst we've had since '99, no way. Webster and Kear had worse squads. If Applegarth isn't sacked at any point this season, then the 'criteria' for the coach has been altered by the club. Clearly if Poching went, based on results/performances, then Applegarth should have, or will be sacked soon. But I seriously doubt it, I think the club 'expect' us to drop down and are quite comfortable with this, as they will have worked out how we will 'survive' down there, although obviously they would never admit that publicly. I think they see us staying up as a massive bonus, and will obviously work things out again financially to limp along if the miracle occurs.....but as others' have said, it's not straightforward with IMG floating about.....

Whole thing is just smoke and mirrors - club was 100 percent aware of the fact we wouldn’t get a a grade , series of appalling decisions - non contracted payment to chris Chester , 3 year deals for ashurst and lineham followed by Michael carters decision to pull out (end of day can only applaud him for what he’s achieved in last ten years) meant the writing was on the wall. We then literally cobbled together the cheapest overseas players imaginable , the lowest cost coaching partnership - all very obvious and clearly designed to minimise outgoings (possibly clearing outstanding loans before relegation and administration ) .

Then signing the absolute lowest cost available players on the shortest term deals - mason hewit et al.

Clubs relegated and sadly the only people to blame are the ownership group

Just read his brief interview regarding his 'Termination'. He stated he wanted to stay on, but the Board wanted someone to get them into the Top 6. That's turned out well hasn't it

The board wanted someone who could get top 6 and appointed a glorified PE teacher.
