Solicitors are notorious for dragging things out and wringing every last penny out of their clients , those letters bouncing back and forth are a real money maker . Hope he’s got some brass left for players when they’ve finished hanging him out to dry

I would think Ellis would have his own legal advisors and I am sure the one thing he will be use to is business negotiations.

I tend to agree, although I have no doubt Ted had Trinity close to his heart I hope he is nowhere near the potential new owner.

Ellis’s letter where he outlined his intent seems a distant memory now. I can’t imagine he’s the one holding up the takeover.

When solicitors are involved things rarely run to timescales and budget.

We are all crying for news and there are fans crying over a few outgoings like they’re like Penrith’s first teamers but there’s a long off season to go and plenty I’m sure to be announced.

Unless they have lined it all up to happen today… then I agree, the Grand final and the unfortunate announcement about Newcastle will put a dampener on any takeover press conference..
Most journalists will be in Manchester doing the player interviews etc.

Maybe the timescale of 14 days is a bit over promising.

The due diligence was originally hoped to take around 4 weeks, and it was 3 months later when the further announcement was made.

One thing I've learnt in professional life is under promise, over deliver, not the other way around.

Given what this club has been through i’m not sure a new era starting on Friday the 13th is a good idea anyway! I’m happy to not tempt fate and wait til monday!
