He might not take us to the top but I'm certain he isn't going to take us down.
If he's not good, we play Walker, TJ, Miller and Brough in the positions he plays.
Best case he takes one of those positions because he's better than them and adds some great goal kicking, probably fastest man on the field off the mark and has a great step.

In terms of money, how can you possibly know what he has accepted.

I'm not in the Rocky is God camp but I'm closer than I am to yours.

Ok, so hes not Jonathan Thurston, but hes not mediocre either.

For me he was our best and most consistent player last year.
Also, hes local, loves the club and plays with heart and passion.

In a team decimated by injuries he filled in were needed , was consistently. Our best back. Having him pushing the likely incumbents has to be a good thing. As regards the money the club will have only paid what it thinks he’s worth similarly he probably feels he’s received best offer he’s going to get.

He was far from mediocre regardless of whether you think he's an HB or not. I thought Hampshire along with Green and Kirmond was the three players who really made a difference in the last few weeks of the season. Not saying others didn't but these were the ones who stuck in my mind

Green gave us real grunt upfront.

Kirmond offered little in attack but in defence rallied time and time again.

Hampshire may have been out of position but he seemed to be the only one in our backline who seemed to want to play an attacking game, his try tally proves that.

For me, he's wasted on the wing. He's a decent FB but it's at HB where his future lays in my mind. Do I think he's a genius HB? Well no not yet but there's time. That said it's nonsense to say he must replace Brough immediately, thats so wrong as to be just daft, instant destruction of a team IMO. Those two are the incumbents and it's Hampshire job to keep the pressure on and take his chance when it comes and it will, Brough is ancient and Miller has started picking up injuries more regular, it will happen. He only needs to look at Kirmo or big Dave to see that it often comes late even for the best or better still Brough who didn't really settle at 7 until he joined us for the second time.

It's not obvious at all, Vastcap wrote a fairly long comment and got a one word reply, not to say that I don't agree about Tanginoa but still, people should try adding context before posting.

Well it seems obvious to me.

Though overall the pack played well in last 4 or 5 matches with a bit of luck we could have won 4 instead of 2. First time we did not miss Big Dave .Rocky was the guy who provided the of the cuff move eg the 60 yard kick and chase at H K R . These are what the fans like to see ,this is why MOST fans hope he signs.I am in the hope he signs

And me, what seems obvious is that we have two little children pretending to be adults by making silly assertions about poster identity and derailling threads. They do it time and time again but we have a moderator who lets them constantly get away with it.

I don’t post on here anymore because it’s a trolls paradise. That I assume is why most of the other old time posters have gone and why all the previous high quality mods no longer get involved.

I love the sound of my own voice and with 20 billion posts to my name I like a ruck. I’ve no wish to be someone else, kind of defeats the object!

Totally agree! I and a few others on here were amongst a small band of original forum members years ago. I would class myself as a positive poster in general and knowledgeable about the game. I am a Wakefield supporter but not to the point of total bias. It's very rare these days that i look in, let alone post, as the forum is generally dominated by idiotic posts and conversations, generally conducted by people who think they know it all but usually know nothing. Personally, I'm really looking forward to next season and the team we will have on the field. At Wakefield, team has always been more important than any individuals who will come and go, that's professional sport. In Michael Carter we have the best chairman now CEO we have ever had, and probably the best coaching staff, although John Kear is always welcome back. General rant over, this is my last post also!
