The brains trust has arrived, you really have not got a clue - two tries great defence - what is it with sad people like you, why do you need a victim no matter what.
As for the original topic, I know I will upset a few here (normal pre amble cr*p) but Kear out, Mopsey for head coach - there that should keep the plankton on here happy.
'"
OK - I'll bite, I know I shouldn't but I cannot help it.
First of all, what a great afternoon - thouroughly enjoyed myself and was entertained in the sun for pretty much the full 80 mins. Defense was improved massively from previous weeks and we looked dangerous with ball in had with potential offloaders having support the majority of the time. Disciplice was fantastic and I can't even remember us giving away a penalty. Cracking performance and we hammered them in the end when in games past we would have gone easy on them instead of hammering them. All the boys who needed a boost scored too - so a nice bonus that should do the confidence the world of good.
Now then, back to the bigger picture. I am still not 100% convinced that everything is rosy - just as we didn't become a poor team overnight we dont become worldbeaters overnight, and the dour dross we have been subjected to for the last 6 matches or so still sticks in my mind. I am aware that we have issues, they are well documented. I just think its too early to get carried away here and brush under the carpet the issues we have had since Easter and move on as if nothing bad ever happened. I really hope we have cracked it and turned a corner and we pick up our share of wins from here on in and scrape into the play offs, but at the moment the jury is well and truely out, for me at least - and an attractive 80 mins won't turn my head yet.
Why, having an opinion that does not agree everything is rosy in the garden make posters "plankton"?
People who express concern or a negative opinion after a poor game (team or individual) are shouted down and lambasted for being "knee jerkers" or "pond life", yet the same posters who are outraged at this are perfectly entitled to have the oposite opinion after 80 mins of good stuff, completely disregarding the performances of the last couple of months?

Funny I see it the other way around. Those who express opinions such as sack the coach or such and such is a cr*p player seem happy to do so in any terms they choose. They envoke it as there god given right. They feel no hesitation in rubbishing a career or demanding the removal of someones livelyhood often on a whim or whilst having a post match hissy.
This is all fine, an opinion is an opinions. What isn't alright is when for want of a better expression a Rose Tinter gives em some of there own medicine they immediately cry foul.
They can be as strident and opinionated as they wish but no one else can.
I don't see it that way, if you can't take it then don't give it. Other people don't back down in their criticism of the club and it's supporters, so you tell me why I should back down in it's defence.
I have no issue with reasoned debate I too have been unsure of Kears decisions of late, but when people are seriously demanding Kears head after the season he's had yet has still managed to keep us top 8 possible I truly despair.
As for the plankton comment, I stand by it. As far as I'm concerned some of the people who turn up at BV are only happy when it's going wrong. Do they have the right to do that? well yes they do though it's a strange way to waste £20 and an afternoon IMO. Do I have to lamely listen to them spout what I know to be wrong and not say a word - no I don't - you see here is the rub - I too have paid my £20. If they can say what they want any way they choose so can I and if they don't like it stuff em, to use there own logic.
Ever since these forums began there has been an odd imbalance between what the pro club fans are allowed to say and what the critics feel they can say. There attitude is a bit - you can have any opinion you want so long as you agree with me or - if you support the club you're a crawler and a fool with no spine, if you're against the club you are a rebel free to tell it how it is - yeah right.

| Missed this game as I was on my stag do, typical really as I also missed the win over Leeds as I was best man at a wedding. Hope we've got a game on 23 July as that's the date of my wedding so were certain to put in a performance. As has been said by other posters this win doesn't mean we've turned the corner but it should put some renewed confidence in to the players. Sounds like jd enjoyed himself and I'm glad he did because of late I don't think he's been enjoying playing as much as he used to. This I believe is down to a number of things, not playing in a settled position (to my knowledge he's played centre, second row, loose forward, hooker and stand off), not being in the best of form, playing in a team that's not been in the best of form also, with milard out maybe jd will get a sustained run at his old position of centre.
How did the quins attack go? Did they attack our flanks? Sounds like gleeson and blanch played better but I still fear for glees coming up against the likes of delaney and senior, hope he proves me wrong and has a stormer as like all posters on here (even though some won't agree with my sentiments) we want the team to do well and win games.
The games against Leeds and Wigan are not about results for me but
performances, if we can hang tough and make them fight for every point they
get then I'll be happy, prior to Sunday we've been laying down and making things easy for the opposition. We have another week off this weekend that should freshen the players up but after such a comprehensive win a week off can often be detrimental. Here's to jk and beans getting the lads chomping at the bit in preparation for the next game and keeping confidence and spirits high in the camp.

| Quote ="vastman"Translate - I simply can't admit I was wrong. I made some foolish assumptions about a player I'd seen play no more than 3-4 times (one a friendly) in a Trinity shirt and decided he wasn't a patch on Stosic, a player suddenly given legendary status.
Now that King has proved at least IMO vastly the superior player based over a similar number of games I will blame Vastman and not myself for getting it wrong.
No Bloomers I don't have superior knowledge I just give people a chance. I based my opinion on King as a recruit based on his playing ability as shown for many seasons at Hull. I said he was a good replacement given the time and money we had. I never claimed he would be great just that he was the best available prop. As it happens he has found his form as a player and IMO is our best buy of the season. Just as well Kear and fans like myself give players a chance to settle. Bad Vastman.
There is a lesson here but I'm sure it's wasted.'"
Great, you can translate what someone else say, into what [uyou[/u want it to mean. Unfortunately though, I never said what you are suggesting. I'll happily admit, King's form over the last 3-4 games has been better than I hoped for. Happily, as I'm a Wakey fan who wants us to do well. If you knew anything of me, and knew what I said about King at the time though, you'd know I was willing to, and did, give him a chance.
And that is why it isn't worth arguing with you, because time spent in constructive debate is spent re-explaining what is meant in the face of your twisted misinterpretation. For what it is worth, the original thread is here:
[urlhttp://viewtopic.php?f=33&t=445332[/url
I'd suggest you read the bit where I explicitly state
Quote ="bloomers"And on field, I am yet to see performance from King that merits calling him adequate as a replacement. I'm not on about 'in time' either, I was responding to your 'so far so good'.'"
Although such a suggestion would no doubt be wasted on someone who seems to believe that taking a holier-than-thou attitude makes him better than 99.9% of his fellow fans, whilst also spouting such drivel his name is synonymous with laughing stock on several other parts of this forum.

Nobody's crying fowl after a reasonable debate that I can see, all I can see is a hugely hypocritical post from a hugely hypocritical poster.
You want to debate the merits of Kear et al, lets debate. I am capable of discussing it in a reasonable manner and feel able to back up my comments with reasoning and a certain degree of logic. I could talk rugby til the cows come home and sadly this is one of the few options I have working with a gaggle of football fans. What gets my goat is a blind regurgatation along the lines of "the club chose it, it must be right as they must know best" or comments along the line of "so you know more about the game than JK".
I am also willing to discuss my opinion when things point to it being questionable (thankfully like this week) and its easy to pick holes in it - like I am doing now, can you say the same?
I don't remember too much posting from you over the last 6 weeks or so when events on the field became increasingly difficult to defend, then all of a sudden we play a blinder and your commenting left, right and centre about you were right all along.....

No probs - given the moaners 6 weeks to knock themselves out with an orgy of recrimination and self pity - yet it's still not slaked their thirst or improved their humour - some people are never satisfied.
So I poked the ants nest, silly ants for responding but then self justification requires just that It's wrong I know but it needs to be done every now and then. Not that it makes a blind bit of difference, one slip and lynch mob will be out in force again....happy days.

Obst was shifted into the right centre birth in defence, seemed to work well and he tackled everything that was thrown at him. Still makes me laugh how the opposition pick him out as a weak link in defence when in fact he is pound for pound one of the better tacklers at the club.

Wrong hooker to run at! I remember a few sides (mainly Kear's Hull) who used to have 3 or 4 sets just running at Marchy who offered no more than a strangely executed shoulder barge.

| good win... on the back of a good win for the sharks made it a pleasant weekend for me....
despite my better judgement I watched the Bradford game on delayed telecast... TBH there didnt look to be much wrong... obviously lacking the unpredictable spark of Brough... but not the massive deterioration I had been expecting based on the posts on here.
For now we have to be a team that grinds out the wins... again!

Quins tried to spin the ball out wide on a number of occasions, but were outdone by good defence or their own errors. They're a much better side than the scoreline suggests, though. We had one of those rare days when most things worked for us. It was a delight to watch, and to be honest, if we'd been a more confident team from the outset, we could have scored 70. Hope we kick on from here. The journey over was well worth while.

| I love it when we win and I never will call for Kears head what i don't understand we stuck with blanch and gleeson for 6 games letting in at least 3 tries + per game why has it took 6 games to sort it out. I don't understand!!! Anyway we are back to winning ways and long may it continue against Wigan !!!!
