Quote ="vastman"Yea and no. The front terracing is considered sound and level and will be left. All the terracing above the walkway including the corner bit near the refreshments hut will be relayed and levelled.
The very top level of terracing will be removed to make it a single depth across instead of the extra tier that’s currently there. The levelled bit will become a rear concourse with drink and food outlets I believe. It all on the plans on the planning portal.
Hope that makes sense.'"

| It also looks like the North Stand will have a backing to which should help the atmosphere.
Would've liked to see the uncovered terrace reprofiled too with new barriers. I know beggars can't be chosers but it would've really finished off the North Stand. Maybe in time should further funding become available.

I hope that they will put some guttering on the roof of the North stand. Currently when it rains, the water runs off the roof and the wind blows it back under the stand!
Just seen your reply Khlav, which should solve the problem

The front terracing is in remarkably good condition all things considered and to be honest personally I wouldn’t bother, it’s more than adequate. Critically it’s above pitch level which at least gives adequate sight lines unlike the East and West terraces. The cost of doing it would far outweigh the need, with the money better spent elsewhere.
As a nice little cosmetic touch they could layer it with a textured epoxy screed, though even that isn’t cheap.

More my OCD with the uneven treads and risers that's bothering me, but I agree there is far more need across other areas of the stadium.

| Quote ="coco the fullback"Which was also the mantra at BV until very recently. Things changed when it became clear that the developers never intended to fulfil their legal requirements. This coincided with regaining ownership of the ground along with some surrounding land to make development more feasible.
I think WR already has more seating, (2500 min?) Pitch size seems more flexible these days. Floodlights may need replacing.
The problem is, meeting minimum standards is just treading water and a stay of execution. Stadia need to generate income on matchday and beyond in order to maintain a sustainable club.
Should the current plans come to fruition , BV would be moving in that direction.'"
Actually we don't have enough seats mate, we are 250 short of requirements for super league plus the away changing room is too small. So you would think that would be an easy fix if there was no hope of the new ground. For what its worth there is a rumour (some claim to have seen the plans) of a similar funding scheme for the redevelopment of WR to what is proposed at Belle Vue.. wouldn't it be nice if we both crossed the line together.

Must admit it’s not somewhere I’ve ever stood but it always looks pretty even and solid compared to the upper terracing but then a pebble beach would.

I would sincerely hope there were tbh. I simply can’t see your new stadium ever happening, if retail/out of town wasn’t dead before Covid it now.
WR has a few modest advantages over BV in development terms. It’s not as landlocked, it’s not on a main road, it’s in a less residential area. I’d also say 3/4 of it is adequate if extremely basic.
If you could cop a new main stand I think it would be difficult to criticise it as a RL venue. It would also give some improved income.
On your final point YES. For WMDC to have three clubs all in their fit for purpose traditional stadiums would be brilliant. For me it would make this area the true heart of the game. Best of luck.

| Am I missing a trick here, I’ve just read planning and it suggests there will be standing areas at the front of the new East stand, but looking at the drawings I can’t see terracing.Ignore this, I’ve read it wrong.

The Doncaster rd turnstiles will be still used like they are now for the North Stand I would imagine.

| Hearing a rumble that the planning meeting may have been put back again but no details and hope I'm utterly wrong. Frustrating but the backlog is huge at present, don't believe it's anything sinister.

I’ve had this feeling that there is a doubt the planning meeting will go ahead on the 18th Nov, simply because we’ve had no request from the club, for fans to support, on the planning portal, the developers planning application. I know JM is on record saying, the club will walk away from the negotiating with developers if the funding terms wasn’t right for the club. The frustrating part for me is, the past few documents added to both the applications, suggested things were going in the right direction.

I have no idea wether a final figure has been agreed b, but if not then I would of thought there would probably be some hard bargaining going on up until the last minute before it goes to planning.
There’s no point I submitting it until then.
These are just my personal thoughts but I don’t think Henry boot and yorcourt will be that bothered wether the fans give backing to their application or not.
They know fine we’ll that the carrot is the stadium that pushes their application over the line.

They are, it's purely a backlog as far as I've been told. It's not just the planning department either it needs noting. All the other organisations involved are also being slowed down by Covid etc. Responses are hard to get from other bodies involved in a way they normally aren't. It's frustrating but as far as I can tell not sinister, all the same, no point having the meeting only for it to be halted because all the boxes have not yet been ticked. I believe YC are as keen to move on as we are, although obviously on the most favourable terms they can get, but that's business rather than deciet.

Don't know why you sit on the fence Belly - just say what you mean!
Seriously, planning applications move at snails pace and I find it hard to accept Covid as a cause, when they moved at the same pace prior to anyone having heard or Covid.
Even with the implications of Covid surely these meetings could be virtual.
I appreciate there maybe other reasons for a delay in the applications we have interest in but Covid is not in my view one of them.

From what I understand and I’m not an expert it’s not the council it’s not just the council it’s the supporting docs and info from other interested groups that is delaying things.
You’re right though, planning restrictions in the U.K. are ludicrously slow and restrictive.
