Glad I'm not the only one.
Never rated Poore whilst Stosic & Tronc were head & shoulders above him in ability.
Funny how fans see players differently!

I still think Tronc in those first few games he played is the best player we have had in SL.
Stosic again was a good player who I would say had similar standard performances to Poore. The difference is that we were expecting alot more from Poore than we were from Stosic.

| I thought his move to KR would have been a good opportunity to wipe the slate clean. His cards are marked again this season by the looks of it.

| Id go as far as to say Tronc in those few ganes was the best prop we have had in recent times but im not sure about the best player we have had in SL.
He'd still be well behind Solomona, Poaching, Ellis and Brough on that list for me personally.
I liked Poore, but i expect to get pretty much the same during a game from Anderson with the added advantage of him maybe been on the field a bit more and im guessing at a fraction of the cost.

Had Tronc stayed he would have been a major candidate for Man Of Steel, but I take your point about the others.
I agree with you on Anderson, he has looked good in the couple of games he has played, lets hope he can keep it up.

| Justin Poore - another 'Korki' for me. Massively overrated and contributed little in the majority of his games for us - and when combined with his woeful discipline I am pleased we have both moved on. D. Smith seems a more than willing replacement on the basis of the first couple of games, and no doubt will be on a considerably lower wedge.
I concur about Tronc, had all the makings of a superstar for us - an outstanding forward.
Stosic was unspectacular but a very good pro, went about his work with minimal fuss and appeared to give it is all. Much in the same vein as Adam Watene for me - both extremely good props for us, with Tronc being in a different class. Poor wasn't in the same street as these 2 and not in the same postcode as Tronc in my opinion - living off chinning Bailey and Farrell.

| Poore was excellent against Huddersfield especially as we were missing Weyman, lost Langley during the first half and Costigan manages about 12 minutes a half.
Shame he'll be missing against your near neighbours

He is not a bad player and will have good games but I dont think he produced quite what we were expecting or value for money for us.
It wouldn't surprise me if he does improve in his 2nd season over here ala Pat Richards and I hope he does but in our situation it was an expensive gamble that we couldn't afford to take.

| Good player but certainly has discipline issues on the field. Whilst he did a decent job for us he probably wasn't worth the reported mammoth salary we gave him.

| I wont knock what Poore did for us gave it a go every game but cant remember him bursting a tackle too many times and was always the threat of giving a penalty away.

| Ask opposition players who they'd rather tackle and it won't be Justin Poore.
He's cracking prop, he's got faults granted.

Yet he made significantly less tackle busts than the majority of our pack.

Couldn't agree more; he was absolutely outstanding and would have been a real star in SL.
I understand that he went home because the club totally stiffed him; and look where he's ended up now - sad story.

Ask that ex Hull KR hooker that he ran over the top of at Belle Vue, that was brutal.

Not all props bust tackles, some make yards and don't get turtled allowing a quicker play the ball.
He's a nasty brute and one that oppositon players don't look forward to meeting.
I suppose he'a like marmite tommy.

A quick play of the ball was one of my issues with Poore, he never seemed to get them.

See thats the thing I just didn't get with him - always thought he went the other way and often spoiled the hard work he had done by wrestling for the few extra feet, losing the quick PTB - although as you say he rarely got turtled.
I am fully aware of the subtle art of propping, and the delicacies of it including winning the ruck and finding the floor. Now I may get laughed at by some, but one of the best exponents we had of this in recent seasons was Ricky Bibey - but he had a hard time on here and from the fans in general. Give me the quick play the ball and winning ruck of a Ricky Bibey over the once a season kick off return of a Korkidas any day of the week, but I expect to be in a minority on this one.

I've told you before Fingers, I like the cut of your jib. Bibey was an expert at that. Great starting prop, all the hard graft for the first 20 mins and always made yards.
Adam Watene was another great example.
Korky lovely bloke but a few barnstorming runs & a punch.......anyway.......this has been done a million times.
Quite liking what I've seen of Scott Anderson so far. In the Bulls game he got battered a few times but got up & on with it, runs it in hard and never took a step back - promising.

| In an ideal world there is obviously the place for both the 'find the floor/quick play ball prop' and 'the strong running /stand up in tackle /slip the ball prop'.
Must say I prefer to observe the skills of the latter.
