Paul Gallen coming to Hull FC?

Would he potentially count as a club trained? I know he broke through at Cas but was he on Trinity’s books initially? If so, how long for?

I wouldn't be against it if it were true - he's pretty dynamic and has come on in leaps and bounds since going to Hull.

Can't remember him ever at WTW. Cas Tigers signed him as a junior from Fev Lions I think.

Even if we do sign a big named forward (not that SL do anymore) then we would still need Westerman as we have Tickle and Galea leaving.

Cap wont be a problem as have O Meley, Tickle, Galea, Seymour (gone already) and probably Briscoe leaving, all 5 will be on a good wage.

I think we sign 2/3 players to replace them and replace the others with youth players.

Ferres as CEO had a signed contract for him, which he reneged on because he wanted to play with his mate at Cas, who then departed to Hull IIRC

Cant see it myself because all the goodwork under gentle will be undone by agar, washy is on his way to our neighbours, it will be like hull a and huddersfield a at ms3 next season

What he means is if we did bring in a big NRL forward we wouldn't have to offload anyone to fit him under the cap.

I would be very shocked and disappointed if Westy left the club as I am a big fan of his. I think he's been playing better in the 2nd row this season and he looks more dangerous when he gets the ball out wide and runs some great lines. As been mentioned, with us loosing Tickle and Galea next season I would be really surprised if we let him go.

I'll admit it sounds a bit fanciful but you can't rule it out.

No need to apologise - I don't think anyone was getting too excited; he's a decent player, but not one that we'll lose any sleep over.

Where is Danny Washbrook off? Hasn't really showed his form of last year. I think if we don't sign a new LF we'll put Tautai there.

Rumour is HKR

Washbrook was signed on a three year deal I believe so has one more season left.

If HKR have put in a bid for Washbrook and its worth it, I'd let him go.

Alternatively, HKR could show an interest in Washy and then we would release him a year early with no fee involved as is the norm these days, especially with players past the early 20's range.

Who was the last player we paid anything for? Rooney?

I'm thinking Agar quite likes him so can't see us dumping him.

On this season's form, I don't think it would be a disaster; he defends well, but has offered very little in attack. Stick Mr T at loose and see what he can do with that massive fend and off-load?

Very much doubt this. Gentle likes him and is building a young, British team. Heard we are after a big NRL forward though.
