It's looked crap again when Lino was back in the squad. Perhaps it's coincidental but we really seem to struggle when he's the main go to pivotal player. Previously the ball was shifted quickly with Jowitt getting involved early, now its very clunky again with the team not entirely sure what Lino is going to do, run, kick or pass. Gale has become subservient and much less effective in that time too.

The squad really wasn't okay on paper. No depth at fullback which cost us badly. Having Smith, Lino and Gaskell as our choices in the halves was clearly the worst in the league. Knowing that even had Tanginoa been fit all year, we would still be relying on players such as Lynne, Ashurst and Pitts when they are so clearly past their peak. There is no hiding from that, the majority could see it from the games in pre-season.

Mash does have his fair share to answer for - looking shocking in attack the vast majority of the year being the main one. Persistence with Proctor despite making no meaningful contribution and not being able to play enough minutes another.

Must admit my passion for Wakey will never die no matter what division we’re in. I was a ball boy when we were in the championship and I’ll be a spectator next year in the championship. I’m not happy about it but what can ye do.

No Team in S L would have lost 15 games on the trot even with half the team out , He is just the worst coach we have had at Wakefield Rember he was on the first team coaching staff last year .so he new the problems ,and made them worse

And knowing the problems isn't really enough is it.
If we had problems last year, and then lose Fifita, Batch, Miller Arona......and then Tanginoa, Murphy and Jowitt through no fault of his own he's already set up to fail.

Add to the his NRL signings were duds..... you lose 15 games.

I'm not saying he's a top coach, but I'm not sure anyone else would have done better with what he had

You may or may not be right PT but somebody else should have been given the chance to do so.
Let's face it another coach could not have done much worse could he?
There would have been a cost implication, of course, but there's an even bigger financial loss now to contend with!

- Start everyday by posting on here AND on Facebook, alerting people to the fact that MC/JM simply do not give a toss about the club.

- Once that's out of the way with and people are aware, get back onto Applegarth because as we all know, he isn't fit to coach and should be sacked immediately.

- Finally if you find yourself bored at all, jump on here and give Poptart a bit of stick.

Rinse and repeat until our once great club is back to where it needs to be.

On Wednesdays we all meet in the Hark to Mopsey in Normanton, it's set out like an AA meeting but you get 5 minutes to scream and shout about the situation the clubs in. Got an extra box of tissues for this week as I'm forecasting some tears.

If Scarlet is right and Ellis is retaining Mash and Long they will be queuing all the way up the road.

He believes he is being retained, it may not be what a new owner might think

We have survived the last few seasons despite them but not due to them. They have hollowed out the squad to what we are left with today.
I wonder do you think we would survive if they stayed in charge and had to furnish the debts they have accrued?

Honestly, do you not read any of the comments after you post this every couple of days.
1) there was no one else so the is no "despite them"
2) they have made the company a business that can survive with admin or selling players
3) they have created a way to 'furnish' the debt

I'd like to hope a new owner would be thinking differently.

For, me on the playing side, it would be my number one priority, but maybe see if he would be interested in moving to his previous role he had with the kids.

Let’s face it no sporting organisation tells the coach they are on borrowed time before the final few games of the season.

On the other hand Mash would have to be deluded if he thinks he is getting an extension.

Part of me wants it to happen just to see the reaction. It would be better than an Eastenders dom dom dom moment.

I’d be happy for him to step into an assistant role with long and an experienced coach come in like Powell.

He is still young in his coaching tenure and although this year hasn’t gone great for a number of combining factors it Apelgarth himself I would imagine will become stronger for it. Even from a bad experience you can learn if you have the right attitude.

Long is definitely contracted for next season. Nothing to do with Ellis this was a decision made by our BOD.
If Ellis doesn't want him, then it will cost to end his contract.

Surely he had some say. If MC is handing out contracts for next year at this stage without Ellis' input then something must be wrong.

I see he believes he is the right man to guide the club next season.

Ellis is on the advisory board so is across all those decisions.

I believe that he must be half decent coach ,just not had the players for the season to do him justice. My thinking for this that a poor coach is soon hou ded out by the players and they stop putting effort in. From what I see is that the effort has been there just not the availability or speed. I will go against the grain here and if he stays on will do a good job.

I guess once Matthew Ellis is in control we will hand over our season ticket money and he'll do what he sees fit.

As long as those that have already paid for season tickets for next year can still get them after change in ownership

Are you sure season tickets for next season are available ? I haven't seen any offers and technically we still don't which division we will be in.
