All seems a bit odd and very disappointing.
Fifita, when fit, has been our best prop by a distance, the only one that offers any real go forward and the one player that can make a run and lift the whole side. Without him we offer very, very little up front.
The cynic in me sees this as a good way to let him go and lets hope we can get a decent fee if he does.
However, not wearing a tracker, that every other player will have, seems balmy and if correct, it leaves the club with very little choice.

I fail to see how the club are hanging him out to dry and turn fans against him?

Don’t think any fan would say he hasn’t been an excellent signing and player for us in his time here and I’m sure there’s lots of things he’s ‘got away’ with in his time but has been handled very well by all to get the best out of him...

I’ve even stuck up for him the last few games where some have questioned his attitude/desire. Yes, he hasn’t been what we’ve come to expect from Dave but he’s still been our best metre maker and taking the most carries in.

On this one though I feel it’s really poor from Dave and won’t do him any good at all..

the bringing of players baffles me bearing mind the season is just about null and void, and I can understand being disgruntled about pay cut if he's got a beef with the club on the ways things have gone I'll expect it to come out but we are left with our top prop turning his back on us so it's not surprising he's going to get flack.

Don't think so Pops as it says he removed it at half time. I can only think that he feels he's working hard but is being criticised on analysis of the tracker stats.
Just theorising but if he felt he'd worked hard in the 1st half against Catalan and then CC puts the stats up for the all the players 1st half performances and upsets Dave by saying he hasn't worked hard enough, then maybe he just thought sod the tracker.

I like him but since the injuries and his mate going to Salford hes had a drop in form.

If he wants to leave why, do any of you actually know. He could be unhappy with the way the team is performing, coached or run. He appeared fine until the lockdown so did this impact his decision.
I don’t know and I doubt any of you do either, if you do please enlighten the rest of us. What about BLM he must have some idea from the players side.

There are quite a lot of posts on here I could put to bed and save a lot of posters making fools of themselves, which I find amusing, but it’s not for me to do so and never would. Regarding Dave I honestly have no idea what reasons and only know what MC as said in the club statement which I applaud by the way. Hope this is okay.

There is a problem with the culture of the club at the moment and if we are going to survive it needs resolving ASAP.

This isn’t an observation it is a fact and a fact the club are aware of.

No player is bigger than the club, egos in sport can be a great asset to a player but that can also spiral out of control.

It’s about time the club made a stand and I’m glad they have. It’s the first stage of getting the club back in order.

David has been a wonderful player for Trinity and repaid the faith we put in him. Let’s not pretend he was anything other than a bit part NRL player.

Love him as a player big fan. Think he's one player who is box office and will get kids watching us and he's great for the fans.

However loads of people have died of covid and this measure was put in place to save lived and the players and their families health.

People seeem to be suggesting it may not be true e.g. just the clubs saying it but that could possilby result in a law suit so it HAS happened. I support Trinity the club and the players commited to it. Not sure Dave is and not wearing a tracker is a far more disrespectful to his fellow players and their families than taking or not taking the knee.

This incident aside, the best thing Dave could do is to have an honest conversation with himself. IMO the heights he reached for 6 months whilst at Wakefield was World Class. It wasn't a one off world class game, it was months. If you're capable of that, the question id ask is why hasn't that been consistent throughout his career? He's 31 now and before he knows it he'll be fish and chip paper. If he wants it he's another 5 years of Rugby League. You don't get this time back, it's ticking.
Too many players don't reach their true potential and if he's not careful he'll end his career one of them.

If big Dave leaves,can not say i blame him .He as given every thing to this club even playing when not fit...Hope he can win something before he calls it a day .and that will not be with us .We had our chance 2 year ago but are a club in decline Fifita you gave your all to this club if he goes , all the best and thanks for the memories

Can't really see a way back from this, I just don't see the point at all in not wearing the thing!
Like others, I have fond memories of DF ripping up the defence (remember the run down the left wing!) but he now looks a shadow of his former self and I think we have had the best out of him. He's never been super slim for us, but he looks a stone overweight to me, so perhaps for the sake of both parties we should go separate ways.

Guess you have the rose tints if you think he’s only a stone overweight ! He was probably that pre lockdown . Not quite sure what’s going on with him but just can’t understand his mind set. Given his injury problems would have thought a few months off would have been a great opportunity to come back fitter stronger and lighter . As it stands at moment he’s no great loss but he was a one man team just like willie, Solomon’s and Henry Paul.

Will have fond memories of the guy - the try from 50 metres out against Hull is a particulate favourite. It’s just such a bizarre and disappointing issue to end on.
