Hope it does not affect Jordan's conference improved a lot last year ,with Kings injury not the start we wanted Think Kings injury effected the team a lot.Know it was a so called friendly but looks like there still a lot of work to do.Movment of ball was slow .Line defence was good till we went down to 12 men .

Well 2 forwards down and one already missing season start. Turned out to be a costly game in the end. Hopefully we don’t pick up another injury in the props because it already looks like we are going in lightweight in that area.

As for the game. Nothing at all to shout about in that one. It was dreadfully poor in almost all aspects of play. The only good thing was a short spell of good line defence but otherwise pretty dour.

As others have said there’s a lot of firepower to come into the team so nothing to be concerned about at this stage. Just wish we’d stop giving penalties away on the 4/5th tackle and actually challenge for high kicks or place them better.

Not best from us going forward although ok on defence 1st half sin binning made difference 2nd half but leeds better team i would put money on handley as top scorer this season especially at 20-1 all play thru gayle down left as per cas

good point at Oakwell for you, at least some good came out of the day for you.

Players like Atkins and some of the senior boys know just want to get some fitness etc and they know that they will be playing in game 1 and young lads all bust a gut, hoping to get noticed.
Leeds pack was always on top and after King went off, plus the Kershaw sin binning, which cot us 14 points, the game was over.
Reece Lyne was a real handful. Made good metres and was difficult to put down.
The difference in attitude in the two sides was massive, we looked like we just wanted a run out but, Leeds seemed to be treating it far more seriously.
Injuries were the last thing we wanted though


Our line defence and scramble in the first half were excellent, which was probably the biggest plus point.

Did Walker get back on the field at any point?

If you mean Alex, then yes, he came back on towards the end but there was a suggestion that he may have been limping ??

Nothing game apart from fitness etc. Shame about King, he looked one of the best forwards on the field. I’m assuming Crowther wouldn’t be in your starting 17 anyway? So no real loss at this point.

The type/severity of injury wasn’t even mentioned. I dont think Crowther will be too upset about what an anonymous Hull fan wrote on a rugby forum.

Crowther was actually more of a regular than King at end of last season.

Of course you’re bothered. Every team would like a clean bill of health. From my perspective, I’d be a lot more worried if Jamie Shaul got stretchered off rather than Connor Wynne. Nothing personal, just who I feel the team would miss more.

A bit peeved to think that a so called RL person who as no connection with Wakey or Leeds feels the need to comment on a game and who makes the 17 and shows no sympathy to a players position who as busted a gut in the off season to be in the best shape for the coming season .
