I am hearing that the people behind the super mosque bid have today been at council for lunch with Box , Olivier Rowley and Deputy leader ( forgot her name ) to celebrate their successful purchase of both the Super Bowl and BV site .

And yet in an an earlier post you asked what they have done for others and not for us. You have just answered your own question....it would appear that box and his sycophants have shown greater diligence with the cas development than they did(and this is an important point to remember)for the community stadium in wakefield that would have benefited the whole area.

Belle Vue is still under an ACV and can't be sold to anybody but the community trust until that expires. So i doubt that is true.

Box meets with leaders of Wakefield Mosques about Hate crime. He should be good at that because there are a lot of folk who Hate him




The Leader of Wakefield Council has met with Mosques from across the district as part of the council’s commitment to tackle hate crime. At the last meeting of Full Council, Coun Peter Box, Leader of Wakefield Council, announced the plans to meet with leaders from Wakefield Mosques as part of a firm commitment to continue to develop community relations. Coun Peter Box said: “Whilst we’re fortunate that we have not seen an increase in hate crime in the district we are not being complacent. We need to proactively work together to ensure everyone in our communities feels safe. “We have been meeting with leaders from Wakefield Mosques so that we can come together to tackle any issues and create a tolerant and peaceful community. “We are sending out a strong message that hate crime is completely unacceptable. I only said there could be an announcement and its a rumour, not that there will be! It came from a Dewsbury supporting friend of mine that is close friends with someone on their board so might have legs. It tallies up with something i heard from our end a couple of weeks back as well but there are no promises, just hopes!

Tell you what Mr Box. Why don't you get your Planning Department to refuse any application for a possible new mosque at Belle Vue and get their clientele to agree to a mosque share - possibly at, er, Dewsbury?????

What a sad inditement that someone needs to bend the truth to try to incite others. I am glad they did not hear that the mosque was being funded by the Wakefield prop Anderson from money earned during his period of absence.
If we surrender the lease then what becomes of Belle Vue is nothing to do with us. The bank can sell it to whoever they like, but whilst we remain we are sitting tenants and the ground is protected by the condition granted to it by the council.
I fear that until we actually receive details of what is happening then this sort of stuff will continue to be posted. I am afraid that we once again have only ourselves to blame because without information the vacuum is being filled by here say and speculation.
I have a question for those involved have the developers actually reached the required threshold to build us a stadium with the current development?
I would add how often have the sale of the end of season dinner tickets gone so well so early after launch that we have to change the venue. Could it be that the original venue will no longer be available to us by the date of the dinner.

Clearly they haven't and I know you like to play devil's advocate when it come to the council but their granting of the Newcold development even though it sits outside of the UU means that the developer will never reach the target.

Hope Box enjoyed his trip to China on his role to represent the Wakefield rate payers, must have been tough going but well done anyway we can already see the benifits
