Maybe a meeting with the supporters trust would be in order or did the club let them know what was going

We have spoken with the Club about this and as TRB has suggesed earlier the matter is not as simple as one might think and there was indeed a very good reason for the segregation.
The Club are well aware of concerns raised on here and will be issuing a Statement shortly.

Do you know what I think that this is bang on and one of the best and most insightful posts I've ever read on here.. I think there at there is a direct relationship between the sale of bottled high profit lager and rowdy behaviour (be that abusive, violent, intimidatory).

| The reasons may well be sound I don't know. However it made for a miserable afternoon for me and if it persists I will stop going to these games. This is not a sulk I just don't like being told where to go and what to do at BV. That was the beauty of RL when I first got into it and without that freedom BV is a fairly unattractive place to be.
A better solution is needed. Why not have away fans in the eastern terrace instead were they are naturally pinned in?

| The club can never please all the peaple all of the time.
I think the majority of us agree with the principle of the western terrace.
I,along with others have stood in all parts of the ground over the years, and if i had to say,it would be
the western terrace as my favourite view point,BUT the club are trying there best to improve the match day
atmosphere, and in that they are/have succeeded.
Would we be on the 7 th page if we had won!!?? no we would have been saying how great the north stand sounded, was like a extra man.
Whats our moto again...........TOGETHER......................

How have you concluded that the majority of people agree with segregation?
Why do you think their motives are to improve the atmosphere?
How does giving the closest part of the ground to the pitch to away support improve the atmosphere? Are you aware that the North Stand noise can barely be heard at the flats?
Sadly this is about selling lager and taking the profit from that and not being prepared to deal with the consequences of this rather than anything else.

You seem to have an obsession with "lager sales",did you not get a drink on monday?
Up until the roof being added on the north stand, the "home" support at BV has been poor down the years,so
by encouraging more people,(including myself and many others) the atmosphere is 10 times better.
OR ARE YOU ALWAYS IN THE BAR TRYING TO GET A LAGER!

I’m guessing the capacity on the east terrace may be a problem, especially when the likes of Leeds & Wigan come to town.
But what about the east stand, will that become segregated, or is it that once you refrain from standing up the chance of any altercation decreases.

How about simply not having segregation, and not letting in people who are drunk and not selling lager to the intoxicated?

Not true, the home support has been pretty constant since 2008. The roof may have improved the atmosphere if you like that kind of thing. However improved attendances has had nothing to do with the roof and everything to do with cheap season tickets IMO.

I’m personally against segregation however, it appears to be a consequence of a sign of the times I’m afraid.
Fair point about not serving someone who’s smashed off their face, but, what if a mate gets said person another.
As for not letting people into the ground, you can’t expect someone on a turnstile to make that call, there would be hell on.

Why not, or at the least the stewards that Key Security provide?*
What you are suggesting mirrors what the club seems to be doing in relation to poor behaviour within the ground - take the easy option rather than tackle the actual issue at root cause.
*I suspect that being bladdered is part of the T&Cs of ground entry.

I am forced to agree the club are hell bent on selling as much alcohol as they can then complain when the idiots that don't know there limit play up. so when it all goes tits up they can sit back and say well money is in the bank but the eyes of super league will be on us and with Hull being the visitors they would have been wise to say no beer sales cos them guys don't know any limits.

I’m not suggesting anything, I just don’t think it should be down to the people who are sat in that little booth determining who comes into the ground.
I never take any notice of whether there are any security staff stood outside the ground, if they are, then yes they should be doing the policing, if not I presume it would cost the club to increase the staffing levels.
But, I wouldn’t accuse the club of taking any easy options, hence I can no longer stand in the same place as I have for forty odd years. The root cause IMO isn’t alcohol per say, it’s more to do with the moral breakdown of society.

I honestly think we've more of late because of the push for the North stand, we used to have a sort of natural regulation/segregation but when we started the partial segregation we seemed to get clumps of away supporters standing in " our " end and trouble ensued, I saw very little trouble at Belle vue prior to the lets go North campaign! If you can unstand that ramble.

So we're in agreement that drunk people should be weeded out and not let in. Sorry for any misrepresentation, accidental I can assure you.
I disagree with you however, I think that the club's desire to get as much revenue as possible within the ground is far more connected with the relatively isolated incidents of poor behaviour which will no doubt be used as justification for this lazy catch all policy. There have been idiots at rugby grounds for decades, and I don't think that you can link it to any societal change, I could of course counter that far more youngsters stay on at school and subsequently attend university to highlight a more positive trend in society.
Idiot with booze in a crowded boisterous partisan environment = potential problem.
Idiot with no booze, much less of a problem.

I've got to disagree with you a littleregarding idiots at rugby grounds, we've been all over watching Wakey over the last 30yrs, we've stood in the threepenny stand at Hull, the home side at KR, the Wheldon road end at Cas and never had a punch thrown, plenty of banter of course, but I wouldn't dream of it now, is it cos I'm getting old or has society changed, I can't answer that but rugby is certainly getting more edgy, and I for one don't like it!

There has always been booze on sale at the ground I remember the bar in the old west stand, however, back in the day before ID’s etc the barman would be much stricter as to who he served.
Nowadays there doesn’t appear to be the same restraint & alcohol fuelled animosity is the order of the day. But this doesn’t just happen at B.V the only difference is other clubs keep the opposing fans apart & that appears to be the way we are going.
So you either clamp down on alcohol sales or you segregate, I know which is financially beneficial to any club in these austere times.

Oh I see, well then I agree booze is probably the deciding factor - personally don't understand why folk want to drink pre match as it ruins the viewing experience to me.
