| You've got a real gem in Singleton, my worry is that he will enjoy his time in the Wildcats squad and may decide that his future is with you. Amor decided to opt for regular first team rugby rather than be fifth/sixth choice for the Rhinos, Brad may decide to do the same if he gets a warm welcome from the fans rather than a Leeds reject attitude.

| singleton is a better player than some of you give him credit for, IMO better than Kirke, Griffin and Moore, James, Lillycrop and Gledhill plenty Leeds fans agree,
Great business by RA for a season long loan if it comes off
Wake up some of ya!
I trust Agar with this one

Really, I'm delighted for you - personally don't get it unless there is another signing coming.
I don't think you need to tell people to wake up, you're not the only knowledgeable voice on the forum.

| I hope Singleton will be a good loan signing but I agree with some previous posts I think the two experienced SL props that R.A. has mentioned in the recent past must have turned Wakefield down (one being Kirke) and Singleton is a late squad filler as a prop/second row due to injuries to 3 of our front row forwards.
I don't think Healy was given enough game time on Boxing Day either to see his full potential. Maybe he'll get it against Fev?

Take no notice mate, Vasty is getting grumpier as he gets older but i'm sure he means well? It's nice to see the occasional post from someone with immpecable sources.

I might be wrong but I'm sure Agar said we were after one experienced prop and a utility forward that can cover SR and Prop.

That'll have been Mason and Kirke.

Not trying to fall out with anyone especially vasty,
Just trying to put things in to perspective that considering budgets, player abilities etc I think it's a great bit of business to get Singleton for a year, who knows it could turn out like the Amor saga

Err that's not what I said, I suggested you are not the only one with a bit of knowledge - telling folk to wake up for not sharing your enthusiasm was not your finest moment.
Usually like your posts, but don't start to believe your own hype - that's Smokey territory and none of us want that.

Think they are now saying one more 'significant ' signing which must be trying for Singleton on a years loan ....

Well I personally didn't take it that way, I presumed he'd seen more of Singleton than the rest of us, so was saying it was a good bit of business when a lot of people on here were saying they can't understand why we've bothered with the loan.

| It maybe a good bit of business but what if we train him up go back to Leeds a better player where as Matt James /Lillycrop could have been trained up to be better players learning off the likes of Poore and these players are under contract at Wakefield. Judging by how things are in Australia I will be suprised if Leeds won't want Singleton back this year. Unless Singleton looks just as good as Amor I think its pointless to be fair.

| I thougjt he looked quite good on boxing day in fairness. Kyle Trout had an excellent game imo but is not a prop forward. He should be given game time in his natural second row position. Singleton on loan would be fairly cheap, and would provide good cover in the forwards. If we have injuries in the season then we can look at someone else when neccessary. We picked up Sykes and L. Smith mid-season so I am sure someone will pop up. I trust Agar on this one, and therefore will support Brad if he does join the club.

| Trouty has played prop throughout all age group rugby. I think he has only played second row when he was in the first team last season, so about 500 games at prop and 11 at second row.

Gledhill wouldn't sign another contract and Lilycrop as good as he was in the 20s was a bowling ball with no evasion skills and would of been smashed in the super league
but then that's just a matter of opinion

| I do wonder about all the wailing and gnashing of teeth that accompanies the departure of young players - the last big thing was Cain Southernwood, and I've yet to see him make any impact on SL.
Maybe, just maybe, the people who are paid to take a view on the relative merits of RL players actually know what they're on about?

Fine Championship level.
Obviously had that little bit extra missing for level above.

The 500 games Trout has played were not at the level of physicality that is in Super League. He's a compact pacy strong forward who gets stuck in so will go well in the second row when needed this year. Maybe in a few years if he beefs up a bit more then he may go to the front row but for me we'd be doing a 'southern' on him putting him there now.
With Poore, Raleigh, Amor, Wilkes & Singleton as our front row options and Lauitiiti, Kirmond, Mariano and Trout our main second row options I think we'll go fine this next season.
I'm concerned about hooker position with Aiton and Wildie being the only options for the next 3 months with Wood out, missing all pre-season & first month of season.

I'm not - Aiton is a machine and it will be good to see Wildie have an opportunity to put a marker down as interchange.

well john and Bobby G will have to stand up to the hooker role, after all, the hooker is only a extra half back

There's a fair bit more responsibility in defence Bazzo.
I dont know enough about Bobby G junior but, John has nowhere near enough to make 35-40 tackles per game.
