classic!
pct funding just been savaged and you thing swimming pools actual make cash!
Fact: Neither club makes money now, handing over any of that cash in either rents or income streams would cripple them. NM relies on the business units to cross fund the stadium in revenue terms but clever you youd put a pool in GH!, what next a sports centre?

Considering there's a gym across the road, and a waterpark already being built in the stadium, I think a swimming pool would be a bad idea, good point

Cas broke even last season.
On that theory, if we had better facilities, of which more fans visited, more home fans came, better shops selling wider variety of products and better commercial facilities to increase sponsorship through boxes, dinners etc, that would mean a profit.
Financially it may not be great but it may be a risk worthwhile temporarily to get the new stadium.

and they lose a fortune!
oh as do waterparks!
Basically we are back at square 1 for both of us, and its no better or worse, both are probably buildable and its highly doubtful if either team has the fan base to sustain the addition cost required without new revenue funding, you might get a shiny stadium and no team, same for us!

| It's looking like the stated refusal to have anything to do with GH, even a temp share, is trying to get Cas on board our plight.

Weren't you quoting that Walker had said we didn't have the money a couple of days ago? Weren't cas going to be playing at GH in 2009 according to a report I was told about today? I wont believe either stadium or a joint one until it's built and I'm sat in it.

take your point even if i dont agree with it, ownership of the ground will be crucial,as will the beer and food franchises, remeber at present the bars make a mint, they wont if they are franchised.

A very good idea especially given the news about Sun Lane this week.

Well, I don't mean that. If say, Club X sells 2000 pints for one game at £2 a pint, that's £4,000 for that club. If you take 10% to the council, that's £400 and £3,600 to the club.
Obviously that's theoretically but the council will be getting a little something in return for the foreseeable future whilst also knowing that they've helped both clubs get what they want.

not the way these things work im afraid, look at it another way you broke even last year and had a income of say 2-3 million quid, your now going to hand over 10% of that? wheres the extra 300k coming from? more fans or cheaper players?

At the moment at BV all the catering facilities are run by an outside company that are on a flat rental agreement.

All Richardson has done today is to come out and say it's NM or nothing because he know the council will back GH. And I still feel that when a feasiblity study is done to find which project to give the money to, I feel it wil be GH.'"
A feasibility study has been done
cant youlot get the message, you started GH as a cas stadium the recession means you do not have the funds and need the council the council will only back a shared stadium.
NM has the funding it doesn't need anything, there was no money promised to any club just a land covenant to raise capital from. the Community Stadium at new market IF granted planning permission will happen with no funding Wakefield Trinity have agreed to play there cas who cannot afford their ground (or remind me when it will start) have cash shortages and issues with selling Wheldon Road in the blast zone, there is an option of developing WR but you have no cash. cath 22.
You can play at the District Community Stadium if it gets planning permission, thats at NM though.

No because obviously the whole income is nothing to do with matchday. 800k of your income comes from Sky TV, season ticket sales, away ticket sales etc would not count.
It would only be food, drink, programmes and on the day ticket sales that count.

| On a further note, the Sportinglife article adds this little tidbit:
Quote Wakefield are thought to be considering a temporary ground-share at Barnsley's Oakwell Stadium in 2012 if their Super League licence is renewed next year.'"
If that's true, to play at Oakwell in 2012, don't think the RFL would accept that and it could potentially mean losing your licence temporarily until 2015.

| This is a wakefield forum we've just recieved a statement from the wakefield club to the wakefield fans saying.
That all parties (yorkcourt, wmdc, wakefield community trust and WTW) agree that Newmarket is the ONLY stadium that is suitable to keep the wakefield name.
The council have given FULL BACKING to the stadium, (hopefully that still means the land of which to loan against and hopefully a few for planning permission.
WE DON'T KNOW IF THE ABOVE IS THE CASE,
So NO POINT CAS FANS (GASLIGHT) TALKING DRIVEL / UNSUBSTANTIATED RUMOURS ABOUT WHETHER WHERE GETTING THIS 4MILLION.
NO CAS FANS LEAVE GET TO YOUR OWN BOARD COME BACK ON WHEN WE'VE GOT FULL DETAILS OR WHEN YOU WANT TO SHARE AT GH
WHATS THIS BAR SALES CRAP.....

Your looking at it the wrong way. If Wakefield's position was always that we were not going to play at Glasshoughton, what would be the point in taking part in it?

| I wont believe any stadium will be built until there is a pitch with stands around it!! I know funding this is the issue but I for one am fed up of hearing about the politics and other issues surrounding it. There is no point disscusing this that or the other, until planning permission is granted and work actually begins!!
P.s. I think Cas engineered the leak to the Wakey Express last week to try and force WTW to share with them and WMDC help fund GH instead of giving the land to both....seems like they could be weeing in the wind now...
