Simple answer only the super league clubs at the time know this and it was two seasons worth of sky money, so considerbly less than anyone else in sl at the time!!! is it me?

The club won the 1998 Championship Grand Final and were told (eventually) they would be allowed into SL but the clubs would not share the Sky pot out to another club for two years. The amount if I recall then was in the order of £750k to £850k per year. Hopefully someone with a better memory than my own can confirm.

Disappointing statement from your chairman though, no other chairman has seen fit to comment before the appeal has been heard.

I agree with you in principle, if we are good enough we should not have to rely on a points deduction. However that's not the point. It's about a level playing field and all Club's being treated the same. If the Bulls are allowed to get away with remaining in SL and no points deduction why did Michael Carter have to re-organise our finances and him and Chris Brereton put their homes on the line - we could have just gone into Administration and retained most of last years team.

The RFL have to make the rules on entering Administration clear which in my opinion should be immediate relegation to Championship 1 and that applies to us if we go that way again. The game cannot allow Clubs to just turn their backs on paying off creditors whoever they may be and continue as if nothing has happened if it wishes to retain any dignity and credibility.

The money that Wake did without for the first two years would have gone a lot further than Bradford's withheld money.
So it was a great effort by Wake to do what they did for those first two years.
The game has moved on and the players and structure of clubs has moved on.
If in 1999 the funding was £750,000 and the other year it was £1.2 million, it's not a big increase, maybe this is the reason for the demise of the 21's?

From my experience in life, most appeal processes have some form of jeopardy in that the sentence/fine can
also be increased as well as reduced.

I have not looked into the Bradford appeal but I would guess it has no jeopardy, so what can they loose by appealing.
For this to be a fair process there must be a downside.

I wonder if the Bulls would appeal if the points could be increased to 8 or 10 ?

If their defence is purely that administration was forced on them once by the current owner it should have no sway with the RFL. The criteria they favour involves agreement to pay creditors back in full or part particulary the HMRC. I have not read anything to say this is their plan so would ask on what grounds are they granted an appeal.

I’ve no idea how much the new owner has paid the creditors from the OK Bulls shambles, and to be honest I’m finding it all a bit tiring now, what with secret loans, lease purchases, funding reductions, pay-day loans, and on and on.

But if they were to get back more than two points, it will be the biggest sham since the Wigan S.C debacle.

Unforeseeable and unavoidable








I'm interested to hear how any businessman can say it was unforeseeable and unavoidable.
Anybody with half a brain could see that even if you clear all your debts but still sustain a wage bill that is beyond your means it's only a matter of time before you're in a hole again. Not exactly unforeseeable was it??? Or unavoidable? Maybe cut your cloth accordingly and then see if you can survive as opposed to burying your head in the sand.

M Carter is spot on, if we had been told we could go into admin stay in SL and then appeal a points deduction then we would have done that instead of doing it the right way and selling half the team losing nearly all the office staff and those that were left taking a pay cut. Imaging this happening in football, do they have independent panels to appeal points deductions,plus this independent panel do they have the final say or is that down to the RFL. End of the day same rules should apply to all clubs, that's sport isn't it?

Was the Earthquake occurrence when Nigel went to discuss the lease purchase? This latest position is a real stab in the dark on your Chairman who has acted with integrity throughout.

You would think that a club well-versed in admin difficulties would be a little less harsh on a club going through the same thing.

I was told that they went into admin to get the club from mr Khan. The only thing is that the people involved never got the club and it went back into admin so should be a None starter when it comes to excuses.

You should definitely make up your mind based on what you heard down the pub.
