Very good sides are like what Vasty says Leeds and Saints IMO. Very good is a strong term to use for Cas and even for Wakey!

I'm sure he simply meant that you're not in the same class as Leeds or Saints, not that you haven't got a good side, as you clearly have. Just not a VERY good side.

Agreed he was brilliant, if he does play let's hope he can play like that again.

Tell you what it is great to have a hard time selecting the team.

Lets just hope that Brad and Danny have learnt to play together since last season,as when they have played seperatly they have been great so far but last season when playing together they seemed to play against each other.

I agree with Vastman about Brough. He is a very hotheaded player and lets his emotions rule his head. When he first came to Wakefield he was focused on playing Rugby and got on with the game.

Against Leigh for instance he was more concerned with trying to get a cheap shot or a big hit on one of their players who had roughed him up the wrong way.

He needs to focus on his rugby and do the basics well and let everything else take care of itself

Yes he did but Cas were beaten by the team TBF. Don't know if you saw the last Cas game at BV (you being an ex-pat) but Brough got totally wound up and was substituted towards the end. He let them get to him and it was really obvious.

No I didn't, so I'll take your word for it. Whatever the arguments about Brough, though, it's really about which combination works best, and I think we agree that Drew and Martin have shown so far that they are first in the pecking order for the time being.

Correct, it's not about Brough TBF, he is a good player, it's that for me Martin and Drew just do more for us on this seasons form.

Because for me there are only two very good sides in the comp (as is usually the case) Leeds and Saints and neither of us are it. The good thing is that there are a lot of good sides who on there day can trouble them, we may both be that.

nice 2 see every 1 takin there time at gettin on at danny hes been back 4 for what 2 or 3 games and all of a sudden hes bab get a grip you lot danny is a big game player and will come up trumps 2mora the player that has been playin poorly apart from grix who himself is just coming back from injury so needs sometime also is gleeson who everybody is puttin in there team 2 play the amount of trys we have conceded 2 him rushin out of the line this year is scandalous not getting him down but needs to keep his calm and not rush out of the line so much

btw i agree and think DB deserves his place in the team at the moment and i don't like people harping back to him/drew not playing well.

Still if you want to make it about personalities, then judging by Broughs performance in the CCup semi how do you come to the conclusion he is a "big game" player. I saw no evidence.

That team makes no sense at all IMHO - a centre on the bench who is actually the best S/O at the club, a hooker at 7, a 7 at 6, 3 hookers in the team and only 2 light players on the bench. In the modern game most team run with 3 forward and a hooker, why would you need to have extra cover for the backs if JD is available? Thank the lord JK is coach.

TM is great but to say he is the best S/O at the club is taking things a bit far after he played about 4 games there.

Although you were probably one of those that said Grix was the best S/O at the club after the World Cup etc.

the difference between 6 and 7 is pretty marginal - we don't really have a "proper 6" at the club imo (maybe Rooney). Sam was a number 7 well before he was a number 9 and played there this season when BD was at 9.

anyway i guess it highlights that we have too many playmakers available and not enough forwards - but you already knew that.

that was a quick cut n paste job, maybe put Bibb in for Latu/Martin depending upon their respective levels of fitness.

Grix, I don't know about him I haven't decided what he is yet let alone whether he is the best at it.

Sam as a 7 is too similar to Brough except he hasn't got the kicking game. For me both Obst and Brough are 7 or 9, nether are a 6. I agree Rooney is but he isn't available but Martin is. Again it's about balance not ability.

i agree martin has played well at 6 when asked but for me he lacks the pace and support play to be a kosher SO. for all his faults rooney is decent at following play and picking up scraps. where martin has the edge is with the ball in hand.
out of them all i think this is where grix can be reasonably effective cover for rooney in that he is quicker and more able to support, is good at shrugging off tackles due to his upper body strength yet doesn't offer much with the ball imo

We are still short on the forwards aint we. I really think we should have playe Winterstein against Leigh and he could have played today. Thought Moore may have got a run out today.

Frank could play on monday, if not it will be next week i would imagine.

think frank matty n moorey need more game time yet to build up fitness inmho but i dont think it be too long till they back in contention i hope only my opinion tho
