Add Trout to that lot. The thing is though we need build a squad that is of overall a better standard to this year. In fairness Trout, Spiers and the Masselot are fringe players and need to play themselves in. Johnson and Ali may spend some time at prop. Kirmond may spend some time in the backs. So some of these players may spend time in other positions when tactics and injuries call for this. We need to build a group of players with some who can fill in when needed within the squad. The players who are signed/rumoured to be signing now are far better than the players we had in the season just past. So surely we have improved the playing staff in comparison to what we have just seen.

Kirmond is decent enough but if he does come it shouldn't be at the detriment of a couple more props assuming Hickey is staying, 3 if he isn't. S/R is not where we are weakest as it stands but that doesn't necessarily mean we shouldn't take on decent players when they come available, with the above proviso.

Sorry to jump in here on your forum but i spoke to Danny Kirmond when he returned from loan at Wakefield and he told me that he enjoyed his time at Wakefield while he was there and enjoyed playing for the club,i hope the rumers arnt true and he's staying at the giants because he always gives 100% even in bad games,a lot of people slate him for missing tackles etc,C'mon every player misses tackles and makes mistakes because they are human,if he becomes a wild cat then i wish him all the best,

I would be happy with Kirmond. I thought he was a good player when he was with us last time and I think he has a big future but has been held back by the overload of players in his position that Huddersfield have got.



I would also be pleased with Raleigh who I think is a very solid Super League player.



If we do swap Murphy for Raleigh and Kirmond then I think we will have got ourselves a good deal.
