Really, that's not how it worked under the Ted regime but if MC does things differently then so be it.
The clue is in the wording 'Adebiyi has signed a one-year deal with Trinity, with an option for an extra year in 2023.', ie he's signed a ONE-year-deal.
Usually depends on the contract but the option usually works both ways, if it didn't it would be a two-year deal wouldn't it. If he doesn't work out we will not offer him another year, if he does work out we will offer him the second-year option. The second year is often loaded with incentive payments so it's worth having. If we somehow have unearthed a superstar then I suspect it will be a complete re-negotiation.
So I stand by my comment, he's essentially on a one-year trial and not on big bucks I suspect. It's not like he had a future with London or that anyone else was knocking his door down.

Chuff me the Trial bit was just to make a point, obviously, he's not a trialist in the old-fashioned sense of the word but if you wish to take it literally be my guest. He's on a one-year deal, if it works out both he and the club have the option of a second.
We are not obliged to offer him a second year as I understand it. I know there are deals for exceptional players where the second year is binding but I doubt it in this case and I'm not privy to that info and neither are you. I'll get clarification if you want but I'd rather not waste people's time.

| I think itās a smart move by the club, obviously the club have a say in the second year otherwise as mentioned it would be a two year deal. I hope he goes well and the signing of the extra year is only a formality.

| I'm really struggling with this signing, from what I see, he's no different to Titus Gwaze, a player who has been playing most of the season for London and done pretty well, whilst this lad had been crook most of the year with quite a serious injury. I don't see anything that he offers that we wouldn't have still had if we'd kept Titus.
Really starting to doubt my 1873 commit 6 payments and what they are actually being used for

Although I get your point Titus was a tight call but they rightly saw Aydin as the better option. Letās be right here you only really want one rookie prop in the first team at any one time.
Also the comparison is not right. Titus purely pays prop as far a Iām aware, this lad seems to play everywhere in the pack and is that little bit older and more experienced. Also if weād have kept Titus he too may have been injured, it is something of a curse at the club.
I know itās been tough for you but we or are least I pay that money into the club for it to use as it sees fit. Itās unconditional even though I like you donāt always like how itās used. I do it because one day it might allow us to sign a superstar of the future he we wouldnāt otherwise have been able. And by that I donāt mean some 15 year old wonder kid as they donāt always pan out. Iām talking the Gareth Ellis types who were just part of a number of ok players. For me itās a numbers game with youngsters, we take what we can afford and we refine and occasionally we find a golden nugget.
Itās brutal as you know but if we stop doing it then lads like yours and many other may never have gotten the chance. True Dewsbury is probably not where he wants to be but heās still in the mix so it has to be worth it surely.
My lad got nowhere near that far but I always paid up in the hope that he would. I still do but at 27 Iāve finally accepted that he wonāt get signed
There are currently 11 genuine club produced players in the first team. I can remember when it was far less.
I remember when we played Cas in 2006 there were virtually no British players in the team let alone Academy product, bad days indeed.

I'm not comparing Titus with Yousif as they are totally different styles of player, and if I'm honest I see yousif as a 13 not a prop, but that's me , but Titus and Sid are so similar in many ways I just don't see the logic.
as for my lad, he never really got the chance, but I'll leave it there for another day as not getting in to it whilst he's effectively still under contract until 30th November

They are in build but not sure they are in skill set.
Truth is WP is a new coach and he hasnāt been with us long. He also seems to be going through the club with a big brush. So maybe he wouldnāt have let Titus go in the first place but now wants that style of player and he thinks Sid a better option, just surmising.
Ditto with your lad, I may be wrong but I would imagine WP didnāt have much contact with Ollie? So to him heās not a known quantity. I donāt like laying blame but I suppose youād have to point the finger at CC. As to me the bringing in of Senior was a truly poor decision, especially as he was used at centre which he clearly wasnāt. I suppose itās bad luck, but Dewsbury is a club where he can still get noticed and if he does I pray itās not Cas because thatās where my sympathies end

Sadiq isn't exactly a hard name to say.
I've no problem with people who want to give nicknames but not just for the international names.
If he's OK with it, like Tini instead of Tinirau then great, which in this case it seems it is.

Sorry but no I donāt agree, itās ok in almost any case IMO.
You donāt choose nicknames you are given them. And unless they are deeply offensive in someway or indeed illegal ie racial abusive there is nothing you can do about it and rightly so, that to me is extreme snowflakery (I just made that word up).
Unless there is some incredible deep meaning to the Sid moniker then in no way is it an issue, even though everything seems to be an issue these days.
Iāve had two nicknames in my life, Sevi and Vast, both started as mild micky takes over something or other and neither ruined my life.
Especially relevant was Sevi, Iām not Spanish but it worked.

You are wrong, both WP and AL had more involvement in the day to day coaching of the team than CC, unfortunately a decision was made early on in the season under CC's tenure (but Ollie didn't find out until 2nd September) that the team would be massively reduced in numbers due to reduced funding and he and a good few players were being taken off the books (I believe there are still another 2 or 3 to be announced as leaving) thankfully Lee greenwood had seen and heard enough good about Ollie to approach him and although he had offers from 3 other championship clubs, dewsbury offered the best opportunity for him to develop. BTW I don't blame WP or AL, I know exactly where to lay the blame and the reasons behind the decisions
