Lots of people were up in arms over our players being poached, but it now seems ok to do the same, sad really that standards are switched in the blink of an eye.
If its not right its not right and it works both ways.

I agree, although I suspect it may be academic anyway, unless the upturn in our fortunes has generated more cash than AG reckoned with. I'd rather we stick to our sensible budgeting policy, even if it means missing out on players in the short term.

| I bought shares in Wakey expecting the money to go towards strengthening the club but I may as well have spent it on ale. I think we should not gloat at the bulls as they strugglet in the mire but we should not donate cash either. The club with either stand (with a new backer) or it will fall and hopfully someone like AG will invest money in it (Steve Parkin). But to ask for 1M from the genaral public with no guarantee that the cash will save the club is bloody cheeky.

Exactly silly person, a pledge is not the same as cash is it - anyone can pledge. Great way to get folk on side, though tbf I'm not on your current Boards side.

Well if he asks a silly question he can expect a sarcastic reply. For those who wish my club well, thanks for your support. Vastman clearly isn't one of those.

Even Ted had the foresight to set up an Escrow account & collect real money as opposed to pledges, which would have been a far better idea for the Bulls BOD to do as well... wonder why they haven't?
Equally, I hope that the Bulls fans wake up and smell the coffee, like the Wakey fans did, and keep their money in their pockets OR give their money to Bullbuilder (assuming they decide to take on this role) so the fans can look at buying their own club from the administrator. Given that Wakey's debt was around £500k and yours around £1m, then AG got Trinity for £35k, so the £100k pledged already could be used to buy the club out of administration! Given that you might get quite a bit more money than that as well, then a debt free RL club, run be the supporters trust with a few hundred k to spare sounds like a great plan.
Equally, you give your money to the current BOD and watch them continue to make a balls of running your RL club!
The choice is yours!

You could not be more wrong, and suspect that you will see the most sympathy and empathy from Wakey fans on this board than from any other SL side!
However, you will also see that the majority of them will tell you not to throw your money away by giving it to the current BOD. Keep your money or get Bullbuilder organised and give your money to them and look to support the club from administration or under a new owner... they speak from experience!

| IA I totally agree with on this but fear it's falling on deaf ears. Most bulls are more scared to lose players rather than their whole franchise.

Its just pledges and the point you make is a good one. Anyone could go on there and pledge their life savings, doesn't mean when push comes to shove (or the missus finds out) that they'll go through with it.

Totally agree IA. Been a Wakey fan for a long time also a shareholder but there was no way I would have put any money into our club. It would have only delayed the inevitable.

| I read the article in the Yorkshire Post today that said that a benefactor post-administration was very unlikely and so it sounded like now or never. Could be tosh, but a difficult situation to be in. Because of Newmarket, I think we were all confident of someone stepping in, because the long term future was bright. Whether it is with the Bulls is a different issue.

Forgive the pun but I smell a bit of bully. How do they know that no one one come forward ? The current Board want the fans of Bradford to GIVE them £1m, a free gift, no strings. That way they as a Board and probably shareholders stay in control and they can continue to run the Club as they see fit.
As I have said before and IA has mentioned the Supporters of Bradford should set up a fighting fund through BullBuilder which is their Supporters Trust if they will take on the role. Money pledged could be held and then the Trust could decide how it wants to invest the money. It could, if the existing Board agree, and there is sufficient, purchase a share of the Club so as to render the Club solvent. They (the Supporters) would then have a stake in the Club and have a say in how the Club is run. Alternatively if Administration becomes inevitable then they could use the money to buy the Club from the Administator if no one comes forward or become part of a consortium if there is interest.
I know how the Bulls fans are feeling and they will have to make the decision they think best but I'm thankful that Wakefield fans did not come up with the money asked for because we are now in a far better position.
I just think giving the people who have got you in the clag more money without any share or contol is absolute insanity.

Seems very unlikely if this article is to be believed:
www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague ... ml&BID=480
[i
Bradford's directors have asked each of their 10,000 fans to pledge £100, which would enable them to reach their target, but say they would be willing to discuss handing over control of the club to a prospective buyer.
And, after holding tentative talks in the past, Duckett believes yesterday's dramatic announcement may prompt some action.
"There's always been interest," he said. "We've said for a number of years now that we're willing to speak to people and actually what might happen now is this publicity might bring things to a head."[/i
I can't believe that no one would come forward, post administration, to buy the club. It'd be an interesting proposition for Mrs. Hetherington, perhaps?
The current board are clearly hoping to salvage something from their personal investment, but it shouldn't be at the expense of the fans, cheap season tickets or no cheap season tickets.

I'll say tosh. Took a while for some, but if you take a club into administration once, chances are you probably will do again unless you are megarich or have the access to the cash. No-one buys a club with huge debts before they go into administration, and you can tell that by the amount of rubbish in the press that Portsmouth and Rangers won't make it until the end of their seasons. Still seem to be trading.
Even Darlington get idiots throwing money at unsustainable businesses!
The only clubs that go and never come back are the tiny non-league ones. The historic ones, regardless of sport, always stay alive somehow.

| i will also add something that the bulls fans won't listen to.....
it is quite feasible that if this money is raised, the board of directors could immediately call in their directors loans, starving the club of cash again and ensuring that they cut their losses. this happened to the company i used to work for so i speak from experience.
if you are going to donate do it to bullbuilder, assuming they are taking steps to ensure that the money they donate is not going down the pan....
