| Quote ="financialtimes"Yeah coz there are literally 100's of people willing to do this for nothing, let alone WTW, get a grip, we are struggling to get volunteer collectors for 1873 so we're not likely to have people smashing down the door for this.
IMHO the Dolls add to match day experience, do valuable work in the community, do a good job of promoting WTW when they are on other assignments and as 2 previous posters have suggested we have bigger fish to fry
'"
Give them free entry, like programme sellers get? Just throwing an idea out there.
Still not convinced that the work on other assignments brings anything into the club, certainly not revenue!

| The Dolls do loads of work in the community, including getting women and girls into physical activity (dance, exercise, touch rugby etc) - they're also part of the match-day experience and a very positive part of the brand.
Whilst I appreciate the general annoyance with the Elston situation, it would be daft to throw the baby out with the bath-water; appearance fees are a perfectly reasonable expectation and much more sensible than having them all on the books.
Plus, if I can't swoon over Jade, I aint coming no more.

| If the Dolls were the only problem Wakefield Trinity had at the moment then I would breath a massive sigh of relief. However we all know that is not so. The Dolls are an integral part of the whole WTW match day setup. The girls look the part and I am no dance expert but they look good to me. If you went to a boxing match and there was no young lady with legs right up to her behind strutting her stuff between rounds then I for one would feel a bit miffed because it is part of the experience. Keep the dolls and Daddy Cool and think about adding to the game day to attract more fans because there are different kinds of fans, those that would go to the game if all you got was the game with huge silences at the beginning and at half time. However there are other fans that want to have some fun as well and to some the game is secondary IE the groups of people who are engrossed in conversation the whole game and only look up if someone scores but they still pay there way into the ground.

Some folk can only see the price and not the cost (or benefit in this case)
Before everyone started getting on Elstons back over our predicament and certain perceived signings, I would guess that at least 9/10 fans saw the Dolls as a very positive thing for the club and an excellent way of attracting families and girls to attend matches but, some folk don't want families at games ??

| MC used the expression the Ridings Shop was closing ( before they made him a better deal) , because it wasn’t in business terms wiping its own face, so I presume that applies to every aspect of the club , including the dolls

| Quote ="RebelRebel"IIRC, the figure quoted was around 400 quid per game. I know it seems quite a bit for a cash-strapped club, but if you assume the girls actually get paid something to perform, plus insurance costs, etc., what's left over, if anything, will hardly be enough to line that retirement nest.
In fact, by carrying the name of the club and presenting a positive image of it on other engagements beyond match days, they probably offer pretty good value.
Personally, I don't think you can beat a good brass band at half time, but I accept that younger members of the Wakefield Trinity family may have different views on the matter.
'"
£400 a game...no wonder we went bust yet again. Not good value fo money for me at all. It is not a fortune but is symptomatic of the lack of care with small resources. One small symptom of a bigger problem. We would have had equal value from free children or local lasses happy to do it for nowt or far less, doing this, and far more family friendly.

| I am amazed that Stockport not only have our nickname but also the same badge which was not only displayed on the front but also on the back of the shirts. Why let the facts get in the way of a chance to have a go at something that the club can consider a success. It would appear many other sports clubs are happy to pay.
How much do we make from the first scorer tickets which I notice they sell.

| What's £400? 20 x paying fans. That's before you weigh up the positive atmosphere, PR and any fund raising they do in and out of the ground.
FFS! What next? "There's investors waiting in the wings but they won't come forward until we get rid of the Dolls".
Pathetic.

| I dont often agree with bre.......
I think there are two questions here that have become entwined somewhat.
The first is in the past have others benefited from the dolls rather than the club (i.e have the dolls owners benefited from the clubs image unfairly and at the expense of the club) and have we had a matchday choice on such matters in light of the senior club figures owning them and running the shebang - has there been a conflict of interest?
Did the owners of the dolls pay to use the wildcats image and association under license, im fairly sure if any private individual wanted to promote a wildcats brand of their own they would need to pay or would be stopped??
Is any income shown in the club accounts for the dolls other appearances??
Two points that i think need clearing up.
Secondly and looking to the future are they still affordable and viable, indeed will they be more expensive now with them not being connected to the club.
Its a tough one as the dolls are not easily quantifiable as an income stream or valued as a matchday benefit or staff.
I like pretty dancing girls as much as the next man, but i can live without them if i have to, there's the internet after all!!

| Kinley's summed it up for me. I don't necessarily think we should lose the Dolls - the community work they do in getting a lot of youngsters involved must be very valuable. I'm just dismayed that, it seems, they are getting gigs elsewhere and no one at the club had the foresight to ensure they were part of the Trinity brand and that we would benefit.

At the risk of stirring the cauldron, maybe someone (who was) at the club did recognise the value of the dolls, or perhaps by keeping them "outside" the club, it meant that they could perform elsewhere without conflict ?

| I think we are trying hard to find a conspiracy that just isn't there, and even if it is, just isn't important.
We need to make sure, same as all other suppliers and employees that it is the most efficient and affordable for all parties.
The rest is history. EVen if someone took advantage.....they aren't going to give us any money back now. Lets move on

I'm certainly not looking for a conspiracy, I was just very surprised to learn that "our very own wildcat dolls" weren't quite as much "ours" as I assumed.
I think this news and subsequent news leaves a couple of in answered questions. Whether they are as important as is Elvis really dead, did the CIA kill Marilyn Monroe or does Hitler live on the moon - I doubt very much, but they are legitimate questions none the less.

| I presume the wildcat kittens have parents who will attend the games to see their offspring. I doubt the club would grant them complimentary admittance.

| The parents of kittens do not get in for free although they do pay a reduced rate. I know I am one. Let's not forget that the Dolls are not kids. Are we stupid enough in believing they are all lifelong Trinity fans and are doing this for the love of the club. They are young women many making a supplementary income from taking or helping at dance classes or promotional modeling work. If they were not dancing for us they could be earning else where. Must equate to about 20 quid each. Big wow! Can we just move on.
