May only be little positive steps on the ground improvements at present ,and here’s hoping we can continue to improve on the playing front as well and make it a positive week for the club as a whole .

All the pylons are in the same place as the existing ones, it’s just new pylons and lights and nothing else or at least that’s what I was told.

The only issue with the old lights was that the bulbs were hard to get and the lighting rig had degraded making them unreliable.

The new halogen lamps use a fraction of the power, start up within second and last forever. They are also brighter.

The big plus is that they make renting out the 4G pitch profitable where as the existing wouldn’t.

Relatively small step as regards first team games but a massive step regarding improved revenue.

The new floodlight is much smaller than the old ones. You almost don't see it until your beside the North stand. Progress is great but I will miss the seeing the towering lights shining down on a night game as I approach the ground.

New lights are meant to light the pitch and stop light pollution, they are more efficient and cheaper to use

Yes, the original game , which we were well behind when dense fog came down causing the game being called off, and as you say, the rearranged game we won beneath the new lights.

Indeed. Cas are still seem to be using the ones like our original tripod tower lights from the 60s.

No ours were set much further back than theirs, ours were behind the east stand of memory serves me. They certainly wernt pitch side.

You're right, they were at the back of the east stand and in line with the front of the west stand. A good distance from the field. Just had a look on the Trinity Heritage site. Amazing how your memory plays tricks. Maybe conflating with Cas' lights.

So, potentially another memory failure, were they condemned when the council owned the stadium? Or was that the west stand? Or neither?

I was at Cas a few years ago when Trinity played them and the match was abandoned as their floodlights caught fire! An interesting way to end a game. It looks as though they are still using them.
