| I heat a few things on the chippy, bit I'm not the only poster on here that does, but in answer to your question, no i didnt.
I based my assumption on the fact that in a radio interview last week Chessie was looking at bringing someone in before the deadline.
Since that interview, 2 players have gone. Could that be feeling up funds.
Just been announced that Arona has extended his contract.
Thats great news, hopefully Rocky next
Also noticed yesterday too, that Josh Drinkwater was not in Catalans 19 man squad for the Wigan game. Could be injured, but strange bearing in mind their change in fortunes since he arrived

According to Chorley John he was rested along with a few more for next week's CC semi final, which makes more sense and should rule out any possible theories, bearing in mind they have little chance of reaching the top 4.

| If Salford end up in the brown sticky stuff I'd take Robert Lui if he was up for offer. Having said that so would a lot of teams in Super League, so until the public of Wakefield actually come and watch at the ground rather than in the pub I can but dream.

Lui is a decent player I'll give you that but I don't think he is the type of half we need.
However the main reason for my reply is that listening to the match analysis, it seems their young half they signed (hastings) was sensational and took Leeds apart by himself. Apparently he was not match fit and only had a short spell on the field.
If the summary of his game is accurate I would love to see how he goes when fully fit.

He's not a Salford kid though.
He came over after a fallout at Manly.
He's had 3-4 seasons of NRL.
He'll be wanted by a lot of clubs here and in Oz.

Is this a rhetorical question? and it depends on what you mean by kicking us to death, and fwiw he's a quota player I believe.

| He is a quota player but so us Lui, and I was just really commenting on what Lyndsay Gill commented.
As for the phrase kicking us to death, it was meant as in how a good half back with a good kicking game would do. If i recall rightly in the game they lost Lui early in the game against us, and he totally outplayed our halves

The Littlejohn that Salford fans think is absolutely garbage? I'd sooner be looking at this young Aussie they have until the end of the season.
Sorry, Chissit, this was in response to EW.

| With no quota spot available, who do you all want to make way for an overseas half back? The bit of magic CC has said we need and are a long way down the road with must either have a British passport or be British. I have absolutely no idea!

| Brough or Matty Smith??
We've a bloody good team here, but there is something missing and our inconsistency shows it. Maybe a half back general would glue it all together?
I'm really not sure who else it could be.

| Still good enough to outplay our two half backs though earlier in the year, not suggesting anything, it was just an observation.
A few people i have mentioned in the past, have been deemed not good enough, but for some reason, these players have played a big part in orchestrsting wins against us this year.
I still think Broughie on his day is one of the best organisers in the league, but bit his attitude leaves a bit to be desired. He is also older than Finny, so is it really a step in the right direction. Matt Smith has the big game experience, what could be very useful for us, if we really want to go to the next level.
As for overseas quota players, I know it was denied, but MC has denied things in the past (Randell springs to mind), so I wouldnt be surprised if we havent heard the last of the Fifita stories. He did also tweet he was done on Sunday, but I think that was more in the way of his try. That then Leeds me to TH, he has British parents

Could not agree more Adam, I tried to put a link on for that game and fortunately for EW the link would not work otherwise he might not been as convinced as to how good he thinks he is.

Not sure what your fixation is with a new half back, Hampshire may or may not be the answer but give the poor bugger a chance, he's only had half a dozen games with Miller and is getting better week on week, perhaps you should stop listening to folk in the chippy, and don't always believe what you read on facebook and twitter, as for MC maybe it's not always a good time to tell people things, his responsibility is to the club first and foremost, not those on here and facebook.
Here's a link to Littlejohn outplaying our halfbacks with his kicks, I think you'll find they outplayed themselves.

| It isnt a fixation Chissitt at all.
If you have read my more recent posts, I am more than happy with Miller and Hampshire. They are also young and can only get better.
Also, i am not alone in the thought, we need a more of an organising half. Even our head coach has expressed the fact we are looking for quality half back.
If one of these two got a bad injury in the opening rounds of next year, or one, ir even both lost their form, we could struggle. Most top 4, or potential top 4 sides have cover and options in all positions.

First of all I notice you haven't commented on Littlejohn's performance in kicking us to death and out classing our backs.
If you are more than happy with those two why are you continually throwing the names of others into the mix whether they take up a quota spot or not.
Not sure if you've noticed or not but we actually have cover for all positions and in some areas better than those of these alleged top four sides.

| Just for the record Chissitt, the last I heard in the chippy was about Pauli coming over weeks before it was announced, and secondly, i havent been in the chippy since Easter.
If you also look at other peoples comments, I am not the only poster who believes we need the extra half back.
It wasnt me, if you look back who started this thread, nor was it me, who mentioned TH to start with.
As for stories on FB etc, Chester was interviewed by James Deighton, a well respected rugby league journalist, and Chris Chester did state in that int erview they were looking at a top quality half backs, so even our head coach believes we do. He even mentioned a player, and then said he was out of their price bracket,or was this just some so called rumour.
