There is no away area at Belle Vue.

The notion that we will "upset" away fans by standing where they "usually" stand is ridiculous.

I agree with Bren, however equally its important that this becomes a "home" stand, primarily as it will create some volume and we dont want to give any visiting teams the advantage of out singing the home fans.
It is true that most away fans have usually congregated on the north bank and it is not unreasonable that the will try and gather there on Friday, so there does need to be a plan, so as to avoid any hassle.

Could we not just have a entrance for away fans (Down the bottom of the east stand) as many superlague teams already do? Sure it wont mean that they will all stay were they enter the ground but it will surely give them a hint as to were they should be standing instead of all coming through the back or side of the north stand as they usually do.

I'm very aware that technically, there is no segregation at BV; there is such a thing as custom and practice though and in recent memory, away fans have gathered in the North Stand. Given that this is a Cas game and is likely to be a bit of a pressure cooker atmosphere, due to the weight of history, local rivalry and recent hostilities between the two sets of fans (letter-gate, stadium wars etc) it struck me that a potential flashpoint could occur, particularly with the added ingredient of all day boozing.

I don't understand why your being so combative about it; I didn't insult you when I replied to your post, so I'm not sure why you feel the need to do so? It was an observation that I thought was a valid one, otherwise I wouldn't have posted it.

In fact, it would probably be better for all concerned if we stayed away from BV all together and just did away games - but only those with segregation.

I may not have made myself clear; I'm certainly not suggesting that we [ishouldn't[/i occupy the North Stand - just pointing out that it could be a red rag to the few idiots that both clubs have the misfortune to have as fans; Cas in a slump, recent wars of words, 'The City is Ours' campaign, and now this.

I can see where your coming from regarding the possibility of a bit of trouble as there will be plenty of fans from both sides who will of been on the ale all day..........

Although we cant officially tell the Cas fans where they can and cannot stand maybe a larger security presence could 'persuade' them not to occupy the North Stand.

We dont mix in their 'kop' so why should they be allowed to stand in our 'new Kop ' !

Still think the members only access from 6.00-6.45 would solve a lot of problems. Bottom line is you cant stand where there isnt any space !

I tend to agree with this. If the members are there and the space occupied then the away supporters will have to stand elsewhere.

I'm still of the opinion that if the club are behind the #letsgonorth campaign, which they clearly are judging from retweets & responded messages, there needs to be an official announcement & ideally a prepared one sent to CT advising their fans of the "preferred" options & the associated gates.

This could also be a great opportunity to sort out the gates & which gates accept what tickets/money.

In an ideal world; Home fans wanting to "go north" enter from the gates behind the northern stand. Home fans wanting to stand on the touchline, but "prefer" to stand with other WT fans enter the eastern terrace. And Away fans & WTW fans who "prefer" to mix enter the western- with the western touchline bar reserved for WT fans, there have to be more provisions for us than them & is not dissimilar to the CT bar policy at the RWE of WR.

How hard can the gate system be?

If they are serious about it we'll see something done about it, or if they just like posting on twitter we'll not see anything done.

That is the trouble with it being an evening kick off when folk have been drinking since lunch. We need to remember rugby league is a family game and we are proud of fact we can stand side by side opposing fans with friendly banter, I for one would hate this to be spoilt by a minority of beer filled fans. I think if we try shepherd folk to areas they do not want to stand and say we stand here you go over there we are asking for trouble . Let everyone stand where they wish and all act in friendly mutually respectful manner. After all its only a game , remember folk like Adam Watene, Leon Walker & Robbie Millward and living life to the full without the hatred is what matters

Exactly my thinking, and whilst everyone acknowledges that BV doesn't have segregation I think gentle "encouragement" needs to be made before the day & whilst people arrive/enter.

Let's not forget CT have been involved in their share of trouble over the past decade, although usually it's nothing to do with them. Honestly.

Bottom line: Failing to plan is planning to fail.

Feline: I wish it was that simple, idealistic some might say, but we all know the reality is RL isn't like that these days.

Modern stadiums limit the mixing of fans, and whilst I do miss the banter I prefer to look at the positive side which in my view is they can create brilliant atmospheres by grouping fans- what makes us famous at away outings! NM will have informal segregation & I welcome it!
