If when selling season tickets, if we could capture address details and from that see if there are any areas where our sales are low, tap into that area with a marketing push, such as flyers and maybe the community department getting involved with those schools.

Totally get your point about e-mail addresses etc. Glover's regime captured e-mails but this one doesn't. I am on the e-mail list for Melbourne Storm and Northern Pride and get frequent e-mails about upcoming matches. It is okay saying these are promoted on social media however if you think about how Twitter and especially Facebook's news feed works it is very, very easy for a post to be missed. At least with e-mail they are in chronological order and I guess many people, like myself check e-mail almost everyday.

I was also surprised on renewing my season ticket that they had my postcode recorded on the computer but not my full postal address. It is inefficient for them (and me) to constantly give my postal address when I am asking for things to be sent to me. If it is a matter of consent then I (like I guess many others) am happy to consent to the club holding my e-mail and address on a secure database. For marketing purposes this is quite cheap to use and you know that you have a captive audience.

I was thinking more house number, postcode, village etc.

Log this down onto excel and then over time you can see where our fan base lies, then take it from there

£250 is a no-brainer compared to Nancyball prices and I will be getting the Platinum offer as I normally get the home & Away shirts anywhere so it's a bargain for me.

Unless things have changed since I was at College and then University in the 90's, what hand outs and massive loans that they don't have to pay are these?
I got bugger all free at Wakey College. At University I got my tuition payed for by the Council, like everyone else did back then and that was it. Some got extra money dpending how much their mum and dads earned (means tested), which for everyine I know , just barelly payed for the rent. I personaly had to pay for rent & all other things you need whenn your away from home, such as books, food and clothes etc. This is before they stopped free tuition and studnets now pay something crazy like 9k per semester to go to Uni. All I got att were interest free loans from the Student Loan Company, that I had to pay back soon as I started earning 20k a year, which for me was straight away and a couple of student back loans that again had to be paid back soon as I left the place.

The thing is, it's clear to see that all fan bases across RL seem to be gettting older & older & that 16-21 age group, whether they're in education or not is the main one we should be hitting, especially as far as long term fans. Plus they don't need their mums and dads to bring tem either, What you think they get for free or don't shouldn't come into it as far as the Club goes.
We just need to entice them to come watch us instead of the plenty of others things lads and lasses can do at that age. Hopefully if this new developemnet comes off we can get the marketing right, so for those of that age, it's seen as THE place to go around Wakefield. Also a bit of word of mouth would work wonders as well at that age.

You pays your money, you takes your choice. But £290 for 19 games of premier league football isn’t bad value either if football floats your boat as well. And we have plenty of fans that like both games.

Personally i won’t be getting a season this time, not worth it with the amount of games i can to. If you can get to all of them then its a decent enough deal.

Think of it more as a contribution to the success of the club, rather than working out how much you can save.
I think the club actually deserve everyone who has an interest in Trinity to purchase a "membership".

It's quite incredible what they have achieved this season and with the backing of enough fans, they may be able to repeat the feat.
Also, with decisions being made about the new ground, it's more important than ever that the club keeps up the momentum and heaps as much pressure on WMDC and the developer's as possible.

Sorry but i’ve personally never bought that line and never will. If some people want to buy one whatever then thats up to them, good on them thats their call. They can have the moral high ground if thats they want, doesn’t bother me one iota. But most people these days want value for money and if you are only going to be getting to half the games then a season ticket doesn’t offer that. Put it this way you wouldn’t go to the cinema to see a film if you knew you’d have to leave halfway through would you? I and the better half will be paying as and when we can get to games this time i’m afraid.

Fanatics like myself and many others on here forget that to many, like yourself, it is just another form of casual entertainment. If Cineworld in Wakefield shut down you could just go to the one at Birstal to get your fix. Fair enough.This was the problem with the Bulls really.
Hopefully we can convert as many as possible to the idea that Wakefield Trinity RLFC is much more than a trip to the cinema.

But wasn't that offer for Hudds fans who have had a season ticket for the last so many years that's why they got it so cheap so did every Hudds fan get the chance to get it at that price,My hudds friends hopefully will enlighten me more.
But as a hard core Trin fan the season ticket offer is a bargain FOR me.

The thing is i used to feel just as you did, never missed a game, bought half the shop etc. Up until not that long ago either. Now whether it's a case of priorities changed or just a general feel of the fact that rugby league in general in this country just doesn't do it for me anymore i don't know but moving to a being casual fan and the club being just part of my life rather than the be all and end all is something i've quite enjoyed, it's a big world out there with plenty of other things to do in it. But i'd never chastise anybody for Wakey being their 'thing'. I was there, i know how all consuming it can become! C'est La Vie!

Yep. What deal did the Wakey fans get that had held a ticket for the last so many years? I actually think that existing ST holders of any sport that renew quickly should get a discount/bonus, even it's just a tenner or a shop voucher etc, as a thank you for their loyalty. Have always thought that and always will, little gestures like that can mean a lot.

I have not had a season ticket for about 7/8 seasons I never used to miss a game home or away, working away makes it difficult . Also when you consider just how many games are changed for sky or to give an extra rest day it makes attending most games a lottery. I attend when I can
To sell sts to the public in general will be almost impossible, I would suggest a more active marketing n a match by match basis to entice your more casual supporter through the gates.

One thing that could be done, to get round the re scheduling of games, and also those fans, who aren't in one way or another able to commit to a full annual membership, would be the mini package that I mentioned on here a while ago.

Other clubs do it, and quite successfully.

You could do it in blocke of say 3 or 5. If it is sold to someone, who just doesn't want to commit to all games, say a newcomer, or a fan starting to come back, once the block has expired, may well invest in another during the season.

I understand where you're coming from here and I've had that attitude in the past, but that was when I was working continental shifts and had money coming out of my lugs, unfortunately circumstances prevail. When you have bags of money you can be flippant and shrug your shoulders and see it as a "contribution" to the club, when money gets tighter as my circumstances have changed, it makes it more difficult to justify the outgoing. Our season has now finished, my focus is getting the money together to buy all my family Xmas presents, to fork out at this time of year £260 is a problem.
It's obvious that season tickets have to come out at this time of year and yes the club need the money, but I always find it slightly offensive that people tell me to just see it as a contribution. Out of interest how many home games have we played at 3pm on a Sunday, that makes a big difference to people's thinking.

Ps, I will be buying a season pass this year hopefully, but I've had to get the money together over a few months.

Cant argue with that and there are loads of Trinity fans who aren't blessed with cash and the saying about "support in any way that you can" comes to mind.
However, for those that can afford to, they should buy a season ticket as, without them, the club will struggle and right now, it feels like we have turned a corner, both on and off the field.
Therefore, it's time, for those that can, to dig deep and lets hope that Trinity can truly return to the top of the sport.

From where we were just 3 years ago, you have to pinch yourself (not too hard), just to realise what happened this year, it's been a blast.
Competitive with everyone and really, really unlucky not to make the semi finals.

There's been a poll running on Facebook this week looking at a similar type of thing. Looks like there's lots of fans from Normanton area, but a lot less from the city itself

The annoying thing for me is that I play a lot of amateur sport so as soon as games are moved to a Saturday or Thursday night attending becomes a choice between playing rugby/cricket and going to the game. Therefore it's hard to justify buying a season ticket when I don't know how many games I'll get to. If it was Sunday 3:30 or Friday night then I'd have a season ticket in a heartbeat.
