Here here I am from the Stanley area and know may residents in methley one couple wanted the ground but didn't want the factories etc. I would have put up with that aslong as we got the ground. I Will take belle vue being done up but I can't see it.After last night it showed its age, was embarassing

Well if it was that Embarassing why don't you get down and give a hand doing the ground up until we get something better.Just a couple of hours is all that's needed if lots more got involved but I forgot because of the hours/shifts/children/disabled children/family commitments you don't have the time well guess what I have all those and have managed to get down and give a hand.Taken my Autistic son down with me who has helped out it gets me when people say love this club and you see only a handful of people helping to try and get the old girl in some sort of shape.

It was on the sky commentary that one of the stands had to be evacuated last night due to the wheather conditions. Was it the stand with the temporary roof ?

Fans at RSS being evacuated from the standing area in front of the main stand, into the seats, because the terracing's under water!

Was the standing area in front of the East stand as it was under water due to the torrential rain.

it wasn't evacuated as I and many others stood there the whole match.yes the area was bad but we did get a lot of rain

I think that area was christened "Canal Side" about fifteen years ago when something similar happened.

Rain must have reilly came down at your place. Not too bad over in Wigan (apart from the game of course).

Rain it was more like a monsoon it came down that fast the met office forecast light rain at 1900 how wrong they got that one again it lashed it down right on kick off.

on monday I start a new job at an old firm that I used to work before and may now find it more difficult to get down to help out as much, but still have every intention at helping out to achieve what we set out to do and that is keep the jobs going save monies that will aid the clubs recovery from debt and stay within H/S, we still have loads of work to do but some are becoming more specialised, especially the guttering



the barriers in the north stand are going to be a harder task because of the amount work required but will keep you updated as and when help is needed

Why on earth did that guy feel the need to go paddling, was it just for effect to show how deep the water was ?. I really do wonder what goes on in peoples heads some times

In all fairness the rain was so heavy for so long that the guy in the photo was probably soaked through to the skin anyway and standing the water couldn't make it any worse.

I was on the North terrace throughout and got caught in the initial downpour, within 2/3 minutes I was drenched right through my rain jacket and right down to the toe end of my socks.

luckily for me I was in short and shirt and didn't see a drop hit me that night

I Cant believe how bad that rain must have come down in wakey, I don't think we had much more than a heavy shower in cas at worst. just goes to show the sun always shines on the righteous

What I find most depressing about the photo which no one mentions is the amount of rubbish thrown on the floor. I guess it is a reflection of the modern world why carry an heavy piece of paper to a bin when you can just drop it and let someone else clean up the mess.

Same at all stadium now, no bins and easier to sweep it all up than to have the bomb disposal team check the contents of every bin

yes this did get mentioned before and here we go again health and safety gone mad, in stadia and quite a few other place will you find the lack of bins about and this is down to the possibility of putting incendiary devices in them so they are unseen
