The ball was quite literally 'thrown about' today... All over the bloody place.

There's nothing wrong with panic offloads when the game requires it. We try it in our own half, sometimes on the first or second tackle, often when we're in front on the scoreboard.

It was entertaining for a boxing day match. Wasn't much between the sides in my opinion and were obvious fitness issues with some but generally I thought we looked alright. Wildie was impressive, Smith looked strong and Trout put in a stint. Goulding was guilty in trying too hard in my opinion but it was interesting to see Sykes at centre. McShane went well too

How did Tautai and Molloy go?

Tautai went alright, made a couple of breaks but got a little too excited and then lost the ball. Got exploited once in defence but showed a lot promise. Started at prop, so probably tired a little. I didn't even notice Molloy so can't comment

How did kilday do? One for the future?

McShane looks a good fit for us,will move us nicely around the park.

Yes, and like I stated before they defended well,run it in well.I struggled to identify our young ones , due to a poor side seat view, and did the basics well.Looking after the ball in collision I feel cost us .

More positives than negatives. Good hit out but difficult to read too much into it this early in the pre season. McShane will be a big player for us this year though and i'd like to see Goulding get a deal, think he could be handy cover.

I've no idea, I didn't hear the announcer and couldn't get a good look. Thought the young winger showed up well and was pleased to see that he backed himself when given a one on one. Our defence was impressive and scrambled well, one or two mistakes but definitely an improvement. A decent hit out i thought

Nowt but positives for you guys today imo pointless comparing the strength of the sides the 2 Clubs selected considering your recent trials and tribulations.
The biggest threat to you this year imo will be injuries to key men but you still have some good players and to be fair the young uns are showing promise and a willing to give their all for the shirt.

Entertaining game but lots of mistakes from both teams. Goulding ok but thought Sykes was better at 6 when he moved there briefly.

Fox took his try really well with a good hand off to score from about 20 yards out in the corner.

Absolutely loved it when we got the penalty in the last 5 seconds with the Whinos shouting down '5....4....3....' Then a head high tackle on Shulver for a penalty 20 metres out to the left for Goulding to slot over! Have it!





Our props Moore and Tautai looked strong but Moore jumping out of the line for a Leeds try what a mistake..



Walshaw appears to have bulked up as has Molloy who when he got involved looked ok but didn't get involved enough.

Is Kirmond injured? He seemed to limp off?

In the circumstances it was an incredible result... We have gone into this fixture with stronger teams (and against weaker Leeds teams) and come home with nothing...

The way I see it we have Raliegh, Anderson, Ryan, Godinet, Smith (L), Lynne... At least, to come into that line up.

Some optimism there!

I do seem to remember such a phrase back in the 1970s when I first donned my boots in the back street pitches of Wakey.

Really? Do the others make more sense than hit out? Strange how some people latch on to stuff life this instead of using language we are all familiar with. I have to contend with "American English" every day here which is bad enough, now, Aussieisms!! Crikey cobber, what ever next?
