Whatever happened to nothing can happen to "dis aggregate" the scheme, a word that I've only ever heard in relation to the Newmarket planning application, notwithstanding the fact that the Newcold unit seemed to circumvent everything, albeit there was some "doubt" that the Community Trust agreed to it being excluded.
Once could be a mistake but, a second planning application would be willful and would ask some severe questions of both WMDC and the planning process.

Which they've amply demonstrated they don't feel compelled or required to answer; YCP will not, under any circumstances, build a stadium at NM - it's a dead duck.

| What happened to all the objections on the other application? I guess the council will just hide behind the guise of more jobs etc. for the district if they accept another application.

IIRC at the time, WMDC said that one or more members of the Trust had been informed that Newcold would not count towards the trigger point (although there was no written evidence of this).
Since this time, Newcold has been substantially extended and now there is a new application for an additional unit.
As I said, NOBODY can deny knowledge of the criteria around the Newmarket development and the implications of any new/additional plans that would impact on the site.
As regards a community stadium at Newmarket, or anywhere else, I agree with you and it looks less likley now than at any time since the original inquiry.

| To put this into perspective, in roughly 6 months time it's 10 years since the original NM application went in.
I recall the public consultation at the time and being so hopeful. August 2009 was the date I was given when I asked when the stadium build would start.

| What happened to the Community Stadium Trust? It just seems to me that the towell has been thrown in! I may be very wrong and apologise if I am but the silence from all quarters if deafening.
All very frustrating that after all the lies and cheating nobody is held to task and absolutely no progress made!

And Box is still getting his whacking big pay cheque. Paid for by thee and me!!!! The man's luck surely must run out some time. I thought his predecessor, Pearman , was bad ( Rememember him ??), but at least he had the decency to disappear.

Don't think that's right. Pearman was the CEO which is a salaried Position. Same as the bint Rooney who was the CEO when most of the NM crap took place. Now we have another non descript waste of space on a 6 figure salary, so much so I as I type I can't even recollect her name.
Box is different, he is elected and therefore due to the political situation in the district, his position is far more stable than any paid CEO

You're quite right of course PB, he was a CEO (the highest paid in the country as I recall). By predecessor I was alluding to someone also dodgy that came before. We certainly know how to pick 'em in the 54th worst city in the UK.

| Nay J D Pearman was Leader of the Labour Group and, therefore, Leader of the council. Rest assured, Box likely learned the ropes observing Mr Pearman which should tell you a bit!. Didn't he take a position advising your club about obtaining finance suggesting he had access to substantial figures?? As I recall that didn't go so well and Pearman allegedly went for a long holiday in Amsterdam! He "allegedly" also gave Rodders his position as council rep with you!

| whatever the history is I am sure everyone with at least one brain cell must now realise this council of ours is most likely the most inept bunch in the country. Nearby Rotherham and Doncaster were also bad examples but I think our lot are also in that league.

| I seemed to think that sometime this year it was stated that anymore builds at NM would count towards the trigger point, am I dreaming this? If so surely the club could take YC to court?
As an aside I firmly believe NM will never see the light of day, 4G pitches at a push, community facilities. ✅

As it stands the figure built is zero and this one would only be less than a tenth of what was required anyway. And whether it does count depends on the legal loopholes....

| If the white monstrosity is an example of what any future developments on the site would look like, am I in the minority to think that I wouldn’t like to have the ground up at Newmarket anyway dwarfed by such structures. Would hardly be the most aesthetically pleasing of venues.

| I'm of the same thought that it will never get built whilst box has a say in things, I would recommend everyone puts in objections to any more work being done up there until we have a watertight s106 including the space used by newcold. #corruptcouncil

| Too late in the day to do anything about Newcold thanks to a certain knight of the realm allowing Yorkcourt and the council to get away with it without telling anyone.
The council do have it in their power to insist that any new application is supported by a new s106 agreement that is watertight. Any applications that do go in must be objected to on that basis. If the council ignore those objections then something can be done, if nobody objects then they can just do the same all over again.
That is my understanding of the situation, apologies if that is incorrect.

I must say I thought this to be the case too re trigger point
After it came out we had being conned with the original trigger point and MC looked at legal action
My understanding is that anything built will now count towards the bull trigger point
Why must there even be a trigger point
It's a joke

The development, in theory, funds the stadium build, without that there is no capital to construct the stadium hence the trigger. The council in either their ineptitude more likey worse collusion, allowed the developer a loophole so nothing will count towards the trigger point. All this on the basis of some fabled legal advice. If only more people gave a then Box would be under serious pressure.

| Am I right in thinking that at the "infamous" council meeting last year Box said that the initial Newcold building would be taken into account towards the 60,000 sq m? If so, has he now reneged on this?

| Yes he did but it needed a completely new agreement which was totally unsustainable to Trinity which the club rejected, then we had Wallhead et al spewing Box's rhetoric all over the Express about the club wanting freebies!
