| There are things I'd like to add to Lyne's game but I'm ok with him. He runs across when he feels that's a better option.
He get's good results so I'm ok with it.

no Barba couldn't stop a tap running, Sts had to cover him for that but they made a decent job of it and allowed him to do what he does best, its always a compromise though.
reminds me of Tupou (not a big by any stretch) last season taking both Barba and 2 others over the line to score, nothing on tbf he just flattened all of em...and Barba was just sat there with a face like a smacked 4rs3..
he knew alright.

| I'm quite happy with what reece does
As he runs back across the defensive line I'd like to see some one looking to punch through the defensive line off the back of those runs

| The laterall runs don’t bother me, just needs to be more comfortable passing the ball.

| Reece Lyne tries his best & I applaud that, however, I have to agree with the original post & would add he simply is the most meter maker in super league for side wards running ! No other centre who is an international does this side wards running, they play forward running either to off load & or get tackled & then play the ball quickly !
But if Reece wants to be can produce the goods !
I am sure Wayne Bennett would dis-approve of all this side says play !
Up the trin !

| For some reason some people can’t accept that all players have some limitations - even Wally Lewis. Ourplayers tend to have more than most, Cesters great skill has been to recognise that and play accordingly.
Tupou doesn’t pass that often so TJ becomes an acrobat scoring more ties like last night than he does over distance buT Bill makes huge meters and scores plenty. This repeats across the team.
Reece does what he does and he does it well it’s his natural game - Chester could try and change that but then risk undermining the lad. Arundel runs straight but Chester seems to prefer what Lyne brings so I’m happy with that and anyway I think what Lyne does is quite effective.

| No issue with Rhys at all personally. I think he is the player whi has developed most in a Trin shirt throughout the Super League era.
People are having a go at his sideways running which created a break.....

| At the end of the day if he’s got no space down that side he’s hardly just going to take the tackle. Makinson does this most games for Saints and makes something of it. It causes havoc for defensive lines and if he’s able to play the ball quickly allows us to get a roll on while their defence is stretched.
My only downfall with Lyne is that he doesn’t look composed with the ball in hand, it’s like he himself doesn’t know what he’s doing next.

I'd be happy with him not coming back to England at all.
Great attacking RL player but, the baggage is too much.
Like Hardaker, he's had plenty of chances to "reform" and just couldn't do it.
Reece Lyne is doing fine for me.
Very strong carrier of the ball, excellent defence.
The one aspect of his game that needs to improve is his passing of the ball.
He's excellent at getting a short pass away and getting in an offload but, general passing is awful.

| I think that we have two cracking centres at present.
Both Lyne and Toupu make metres for fun, tackle well and despite their "lack of passing" do a great job for the side.
Some still havent forgiven Lyne for being an Agar signing but, he may be the best player that Agar signed for Trinity.

| In tonight's game, Makinson was none existent.
I know Naquama went off injured early doors but it shows how isolated your winger can get when he doesn't get the service.

| The leeds game is a massive tester for Reece, he will have to tackle Hurrell once or twice every set that leeds have in particular our 10m to try line, he will however need help, someone has always to tackle Hurrell by his legs to take him down ! !
This game will show how good Reece's credentials are as/for being an international, game on !
Up the Trin !

The help must come from the inside, Jones-Bishop must keep his discipline and keep on the touchline.

| I'd suggest Hurrell will have a tough job tackling Lyne too. It's a test for Hurrell.

| I’m with Vasty on this one, he’s a decent unit going forward, and like most big lads will cause problems near the line but watching them against Saints he was lazy in defence especially tracking back.

| So should Bishop keep to his wing when it’s 2/3 to one and let them walk in?
Or should he try to quickly stifle the attack by taking out the ball carrier?
Whichever he will be criticised, rather than the ones in the middle bunching or falling off tackles.
Then of course there is brilliant play such as Hampshire’s on Thursday which cannot be catered for.

| Hurrell will target that defence, given that it's been leaky already this season, for whatever reason; the last thing we want to do is cement his burgeoning rep as a human wrecking ball, so he needs taking care of - ideally by his opposite centre, but if BJB is gonna join in, he needs to make good decisions about when to do so, and when not to.
Conversely, he's slow and not the best defender - so there are opportunities there to stand him up and make yards down his side.
Leeds looked good against Saints - we'll have to play well to stay in this one.

| Reece Lyne will hold his own - He never shirks in defence and I feel safe with him and Tupou defensively.
What we occasionally have at the present time is our centres getting drawn into the middle to help out there.
That needs sorting and we need to go back to the second rowers actually helping the centres out.
