Sad is up to you, but why apprehensive. We are renting our ground out to a football minnow for three years, we've hardly given away our first born, bit over dramatic Wollo.

| Quote ="vastman"Million miles off a joint venture. They are tenants nothing more. They own zilch. We are very much the masters and will remain so.
That said I think it’s hugely beneficial for both parties.'"
A joint venture doesn`t necessarily just relate to the ownership or tenancy situation of the stadium though, there are lots of things that both clubs can work together on for the mutual benefit of both clubs working out of the same space, therefore IMO it`s not a million miles off a what I would call a joint venture. Also, if there is an opportunity in the future for the Wakefield AFC to invest money into the facilities that we could only dream of, then there might be an agreement reached to see them become more than just a tenant or a sub tenant of Wakefield Trinity, I`m not for one second saying that we should ever give up the rights to be the main club with the final say on fixtures and control of premises etc (I don`t think MC or JM would ever let that happen) however there could be some form of agreement reached to meet in the middle ground somewhere.
Anyway, this is all future looking, for now I am happy to have them on board, I imagine with the football club having access to the ground and facilities for training etc that there agreement would cover a relatively significant % of the clubs mortgage payments to the council which is then money freed up to be used elsewhere.
This is the first real income stream (that would not have been available to us before) that we have been talking about with the build of the new facilities, and there not even finished yet! Nice to see these things that we have talked about for a long time come to fruition, well done to all involved.

| There will be the possible benefits through joint Depts and processes. For instance commercial and social media, the Community team promoting health and wellbeing. The summer camps etc maybe expanded and then the use of the stand facilities for meetings and functions etc.

Yes but at this point it’s not a joint venture, you’re getting ahead of yourself.
WAFC have to find out whether playing at BV is viable, that’s not a given. Let’s see how the next 3 years go and then we can look at joint ventures, for now it’s convenience imo.
The obvious joint venture is the stadium, but WAFC are currently in no position to pursue that. They need to establish themselves as a credible football club to start.
Minor collaborations for now imo.

Correct.
Notwithstanding whatever the rental fee is, I'd suggest that a decent wedding booking would generate more income than a WAFC game right now, and we aren't suggesting we give shares to the Bride & Groom.

If the Bride or groom are Trinity fans, perhaps they already have Shares

You quote my post but obviously have very poor comprehension skills.
Key words, "If" "opportunity" "future" "invest" "money", then you jump the gun and start talking about current attendances, which I don`t really see what that has to do with where they might be in 6/7/8 years time.

OK, you can explain.
"When/if" don't change the premise of what you posted.
If this "there might be an agreement reached to see them become more than just a tenant or a sub tenant of Wakefield Trinity", doesn't mean a formal share agreement, what could it mean?

I`m afraid I can`t help you any further, you`ve taken what was a sensible comment about what the future "could" potentially bring if they can match there ambition in the mid terms into something in your own head, it`s just bizarre, as I say in my post it`s future looking.
Of course when/if changes what the context of it. It`s like me saying I could see us competing to win SL in the next 7/8 years if we get the right level of investment etc then you ignoring everything but "winning SL" turning around and saying "We won`t win SL next year" well that`s not what I said is it?
I despair.

| Nobody seems to have mentioned the possibility of a good FA cup run for WAFC, as Emley did against West Ham a few years ago, and big name clubs playing ties down here therefore swelling the coffers somewhat.

I’ll answer you only once
I think I did on some post or other but yes you are right.
The beauty for both clubs is that the match would be played at BV. They would have home advantage, ticket sales etc and we’d sell all the pints and pies.
I suppose Fev offers the same apart from the pitch but you get the idea.
For a club like Trinity the issue is cash flow, always has been and TBF that applies to most clubs. If we can even that out even moderately it will help hugely. Especially when working out contracts.
I don’t want to get carried away it’s not yet what some are thinking. WAFC are a tadpole even compared to us, there is no partnership as it would be too one sided to work just yet. However they do seem to fit for now.

Surely, with only 3 years tenure, Wakefield AFC aren't going to simply bend over and handover all of these (?) football grants that they are now seemingly going to get, and build us a west stand for example?
If you rented a flat from a Landlord down Agbrigg would you pay for a new roof terrace out of your own pocket if you had a finite lease?
They will have an agreement for lease that says they pay us £x per month, over 36 months. Unless MC has generated some leverage and hard written it in to the doc that AFC must also contribute in some way over and above rent then I don't share this blind optimism that seems to have eventuated.
Not pointed at you Khlav, there are just so many of these posts. I can't see it turning out like that.
Would love to get the view of an experienced sports administrator on this with some case studies.

Vasty I know you are quite senior at the club now, but are you aware (the serious part of this post) of any details on F&B and profits from match day etc for AFC games that would mean we get a margin on any of that - OR is it just a straight rental, where they receive quiet enjoyment of everything and take all upside etc? (So, in parlance, there is no "Turnover Rent" as such to pay)?

| There’s a lot of stuff in the sub text of the press releases and interviews ( especially with Gui Decca) that makes this intriguing
That the aims and objectives of Wakefield AFC are very culturally aligned with Trinity…
That they are not seeking to build their own Stadium but want a long term future in the centre of Wakefield..
That they see community as the heart of their business model and want to build a specialist training and excellence facility… also as a community facility
That their first duty was to build a financially sustainable sports club with a long term future
Further… The club is owned by a wealth management company V02 Capital (based in New York and São Paulo that manages the investment portfolio for 25 of the richest families in Brazil
The creation of V02 was reported as significant in Bloomberg Press and Private Banker International
At the end of 21 they were managing investments of £197m and US property portfolio in excess of £50m
The have further investments and run a specialist analytics company service
And they are only 3 years old
Even without the rental and such… the mere association with the owners of V02 Capital increases the exposure of Trinity and the city of Wakefield into places previously seen as fantasy land
It is intriguing indeed!

| This is a great move for both Wakefield AFC and of course, for Trinity and it will be great to have something to do in the "off season".
The more success that both clubs have, the brighter the future is for all.
Great work from all involved !
