| Quote ="dboy"So next year, our score will go up due to the new stand coming online and hopefully some extra easy points for LED boards (would be crazy not to take that easy win).
Our on-field score could go down a slight, but equally, a Championship win/1995 Cup win, will mean our score increases.
Here's a key one though - our centralised income will go down next year = we'll receive less from the RFL (centralised funds), than we would if we were still in SL. Plus Matt Ellis is clearly pumping in more that Carter et al did.
The net result of that is, we will score MORE on finances (revenue as a % of non-centralised funds), than we have previously.
I'll have to guess the figures, but probably safe to say that the RFL funding was 50% of our revenue = that scores 0.3.
If the changes result in the RFL funding being only 30% of our revenue, our score jumps to 0.75.
So potentially an extra 0.45 points that we couldn't have achieved if still in SL. (Though this probably suffers from the 3 year averaging???).
Is this what the previous owners alluded to when they suggested "this year is a good year to go down"?'"
Sadly i don’t think that will make a difference just yet. Next years income won’t actually count on the score for 2025. It’s based on the average over the previous 3 accounting periods and our next period end is next month, with the results filed August next year. It also means that whilst the new stand will get points for the facilities aspect it won’t make any difference yet in the turnover/income section. That will come for 2026 which is why by then we should be in a good place to get a grade A if we can have a bit of success on the pitch.

2024 Most definitely count on all fronts, it will be 2022/2023 + 2024 for all bands in the criteria, Hence IMG have already intimated that next years gradings won't be released until after the grand finals, so to take the result in to hand for the grading for 2025, they have also said they will be updating clubs with an interim grading mid season.

Yes it will be judged on the accounts published in the Augusts of 2022, 2023 & 2024. The 2024 ones will cover the period 1st December 2022 to 30th November 2023. Hence those will have this seasons central distributions on them and won’t have any income from the new stand as it hasn’t been up and running yet. The advantages dboy mentioned will actually come in the accounting period 1st December 2023 to November 2024. These will be published August 2025 and as such will count towards the 2026 season. We’ll get the benefit, we’ll just have to wait a bit longer.

| Yes, that looks correct:
"This is for the three accounting (periods) prior to the current year i.e. in 2023, this would be an average of 2020, 2021 and 2022."
That's for this year's rankings, so next year it's 21/22/23.

| 9th I think just a gnats above Huddersfield
Plus if that is correct what jurno claims, only 1.5 PTS from A. LED boards to come and I am sure Matt will already have plans to get over the winning line

I don't think we'll lose much in other areas.
We can potentially improve our performance points and attendance score won't go down below a 3k average over 3 years.
Income might reduce but to be honest if we are winning we may sell more merch anyway and as said, the income we are judged on for next year has already happened.
The key is to only be there for one year. 2 years in champ would hurt a lot of scores.

| Although my maths skills are good enough,I really can't be bothered to delve into the ins and outs of the IMG points system and just go with the flow of other peoples calculations. The one thing I will say is LONDON! Surely they must have been the Holy Grail for IMG from the outset, and 'cor blimey me old son' they've only gone and done it! The figures seem to say that in 2025 London will be catapulted into oblivion, never to be seen again.Does anyone think that a bit of skullduggery of the highest order might come into play, because I do.

They need a new stadium and some fans.

Fans definitely but other than not owning it their stadium is pretty smart.
They are though already relegated before a ball has been kicked.

| Know what you're saying PT,but IMG and especially SKY,will want them to retain their place.London would have been a longish project but suddenly everthing's changed. They are in it NOW,so there will be top minds working flat out to keep them there.Expect to hear words bandied about back end of next year such as 'temporary dispensation',(that will turn permanent) and 'London weighting', due to high stadium costs.Or maybe it's just the cinic in me with most things when it comes to the capital.

I dont know how many fans they have but, their home ground in the new Wimbledon FC ground, capacity just over 9000 and somewhat better than some other SL stadia.

They don’t have primary tenure so they’re not scoring many points for that stadium, also the regularly are unable to play their home fixtures there and use Roslyn park, a community RU club with similar facilities to say Sharlston Rovers, I know as I attended a game their last year v Dewsbury. Also they get £0 income from the Cherry Red stadium.

That may be so, but several clubs have scored well without primacy of tenure or receiving any income from the stadium. I'm thinking of Wigan, Hull, Huddersfield, Salford, Leigh but they must have received some ground and income credit to have scored as highly as they have done.

Leigh have primary tenure of their stadium, Hudds have an equal stake in their ground with Town and the council, Wigans new owners now the ground. Less said about Salfords score the better as I can’t for one minute see how they get their Score and Hull FC were always going to score well.

| If they wanted London in they have not helped their cause by making their score public. The figure is so low as to make it impossible to gain enough points to reach the top 12. The one thing that appears clear is that whatever you think of IMG they are not influenced by outside forces therefore eliminating conspiracy theories.
I think we can now assume that the final 12 will be based on a club’s performance against the IMG rating rather than preferred status based on location alone.

Sounds like a John Minards type appointment… the nouse to work on the facilities but perhaps a bit more personal wealth.
Good luck to them!

| What Minards brought was know-how. We've had plenty of people with money. None of them got the stand done.
If they have a Minards they are competing with us again. If they have someone with money, I'm not worried.

I think he said he is looking to invest a seven figure sum but over two seasons.
