That's a good point, they had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Running onto thw ball at pace near the line. Had he have caught it dont think he would have been stopped so close to the line.

What really peed me off about that was LMS had moved forward a good metre right behind Child's back and we should've had a penalty.

I know it seems/sounds ridiculous, but I couldn't help but feel the same coming away from the game yesterday - There just seemed to be something missing yesterday.. They played a whole different game to what they have been doing this season. With all the talk of been better of finishing 4th than 3rd it was in the back of my mind, did they actually want to win it.

Those 3 points fifta straight out cost us (cas and warrington) would look good on the table right now.

We'd also look a lot worse without the other points we'd have no doubt lost if we didn't have him in the team.

Yes. Sunday was disappointing but;

We finished fifth in the regular rounds.

We've played some fantastic rugby at times.

The season isn't done yet.

Most of all we have progressed.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

Again with the singling out a player in a team game - it's crackers and rarely justified. Certainly not in this instance - Fifita has added something to the side that we've been missing for ages - he's a talismanic, barnstorming front rower, who lifts the crowd and his team-mates - and I guarantee you that the opposition fear him; that's why when he is contained, it's because they assign 3 or 4 defenders to swarm him.

A ridiculous thing to say.

Good work coach, let's just look at the negatives.

Is that the point he cost us against Cas when the ref incorrectly penalised him for a high tackle which wasn't a high tackle? - I'd blame the ref for that, not the player.

You have just witnessed one of our greatest seasons in a long time. We have played with a style seldom seen at Wakefield, when can you remember us having so much pace.
I think if we are being honest we have only had three poor performances Leeds away, Salford in the cup and St Helens.
I suppose the success magnifies the losses because I don't remember when going into a game against StHelens you turned up expecting to win.
Celebrate the season and enjoy the games to come because we are Wakefield and who knows what is around the corner.

Hopefully Saints performance tonight will put our performance against them into perspective for some people?

I doubt it, I lost count of how many times Eddie said Saints beat us

all it does is puts us down to 6th

I'm just glad he's on here to remind us, just incase all of Trinity's fans hadn't realised.
He takes predictable to a whole new level.

Back to Saints.
They looked very clinical against us and deserved their win.
We have our chance to respond at Huddersfield and it will be a huge ask.

Looking forward to the game though.

Saints are playing real high quality finals style rugby and must have a great chance of making the play offs.

Puts our loss into perspective and hopefully we will learn the lessons from the game against saints - we won't be playing the likes of Widnes every week so we need to play with discipline and intensity every week from now on.

Lovely stuff from Saints that - if they could have held on to the ball a bit better, they'd have blown out the scoreboard; Cas' left edge trick has finally been cracked!

Certainly puts our result against saints into perspective. We created more chances against them as well but couldn't hold onto them.

Let's see what tonight brings. Especially without Fifita and Huby.

I sat and thought the same last night as I watched the game. Saints have hit form at exactly the right time & we couldn't match them last time out. But tonight is a winnable game & will put us back in the frame for a top 4 finish. But after the last 2 saints performances I just can't see them missing out on the top four.

Could not believe number of times they mentioned case came from 16 0 down at half time to beat us by 1 point .also I have watched all saints games on sky and every game Wilkins puts cheap shots in in the tackle, I don't believe he,s top tackler, most times he,s 2nd or 3rd man in. In my book he is a dirty player.

Wilkin is a cheap shot guy it's clear on TV. The shame is I really like him as a player. If he tidied that part of his game up he'd be well regarded outside Sts like Sculthorpe or Long were.

As for the result, we could do with Sts now beating everyone around us so that of they are going to jump ahead they at least knock Hull and Salford down to us.
The worse thing is for everyone to beat each other and leave it all tight.

We have to start that tonight by beating Huddersfield.
