| Quote ="Sandal Cat"I wouldn't read too much into it, Hetherington is a regular in Hospitality and has been for years when Leeds are not playing.
Its up to us to hold on to our contracted players by convincing them we have a good future which may become easier after next Tuesday. Its no good bitching about Leeds or anyone else for that matter looking at our players, that's life, we have to make Wakefield look a good prospect and make it so players want to play for this Club.'"
Agreed mate, and I feel the need to defend Gary H (aka The Sleeve) because I think some posters assessment of him is very harsh. GH is, IMO, probably the best & most successful RL administrator of the SL era, coupled with that he is a very fair guy and while he plays his cards very close to his chest (hence why he has the Sleeve moniker from Rhinos fans) he is not sort the sort to do anything underhand. Lets remember which clubs didn't circle with the rest of the vultures!

Listen pal, instead of relying on us as easy bait and looking to tap up our players like you and your club have done so many times in the past, why don't you focus on your own club's short comings. Never found him "underhand" and over the years don't recall Leeds ever "shafting" us. As I said earlier if players want to play for Leeds rather than Wakefield that's not Leed's fault, we have to keep hold of them.

| I'm amazed at the short memories of some of the ungrateful wretches on here. Out of the goodness of our hearts, and at a time when you didn't have a pot to pee in, we lent you Amor!
And if he looks like he's progressed up to a decent standard, then Garry may welcome him back into the fold. If not, the lad can depart with our best wishes for the future.

| BillyRhino and IA have made fair points. Whilst Giants and FC went picking up the pieces the Wire and Leeds did help us out and supported our cause.
We should welcome all innocent admirers to our ground. Plus if someone paid for GH to have hospitality at our ground then it is more money for us. We can all covet each others teams (how I'd love to have Rob Burrow in a Wakey shirt) but as long as everyone plays fair there is no complaints from me.

| I spoke to Gary yesterday. Simply there to watch a game of rugby league and enjoy a pint. I take people as I find them and he was very pleasant to talk to. Leeds were very decent to us when times were tough. Short memories of some people

Correct.
If Kyle is recalled to Leeds (I seriously hope he isn't!) he must go with our blessings, and with thanks
to Leeds Rhinos!!

| Gary and Kath have been to alot of our games this season. They support the game of rugby league and also many charity events involving aspects of the game. They and the Leeds club gave the Adam Watene Fund great support by donating prizes, letting us have fundraising events as part of the Leeds Wakey games and attending most events including the dinner & golf day. They have also attending other Squadbuilder / Jd events and good on them. Also like others have said at least Leeds helped us in our time of need and did not take players from us

| Leeds as much as people hate them are a true rugby club that are run correctly, they are the model we should be trying to emulate. They are self sufficient, produce great youngsters, attract world class overseas players and as far as I'm aware do everything above board. When we operate at full cap their wage structure is something we should look at, they have bands for players ie international experienced club player inexperienced club player rookie etc sure I heard that each player in the same bracket earns the same or there abouts.

Agree with that. They are the model we should aspire to. Difference is the fans, we appreciate effort and accept defeat where effort and desire are shown and never go into a game believing we have a divine right to win it or look down on opposing teams and fans.

Agree, they are a better role model than most. We would be wise to follow that structure.

Haven't read all the posts but your point is generally correct on first reading. We did a deal and Leeds mad a fair deal with us. If they want him then he will go with rgeret cos he is good but it's fair, unlike, for example, Hull's pocket pick of Sam Obst

| Some pretty fair and astute comments from the Wakey fans here.
FWIW I do believe Hetherington conducts his business in a proper and fair manner.
Others have tried to dispute it to their cost and we all know how that panned out.
Whilst we did you a favour lending you Amor. We were also getting a good yet to be proven front rower some well earned game time.
Everyone is a winner.
We have done that with Hood, Singleton, Ambler and McShane.
I really hope Amor returns My guess is he will stay with you lot unfortunately.
Now can we stop all this love in between the fans and remeber we play you in a week when we will completely stuff you out of sight cos we are Leeds and we can.
Is that better?
TBH I think we will struggle to beat you unless we give some of our youngsters a run out and rest our super stand off Sinfield

very comical it will hurt your fans for the loss than ours
Amor is still not good enough to get in to a top Leeds side and like you say he will gain some well earn game time at Wakey, he's already become a favorite with us all here

| Informative postings; lots of food for thought. B.T.W.Don't think being a decent & generous person in general ( as GH appears to be, from the posts on here) is incompatable with being ruthless & successful in business ( far from it, in fact, in my experience), so still worried.
A propos the Trinity-Rhinos love-in that's going down, could you Loiners ask GH to put a roof on west stand @ Headingly for us visitors (ps: like our Fleetmaster; he'll know what you mean as he' spent enough time looking at it recently). Ta!

I believe GH has indeed cast his business eye over your fleetmaster stand, and now that you're on your way to Newmarket, it would make a pretty cost effective bicycle shed here at HQ for the away supporters....
Roofing the West Terracing could be a tad more problematic though. Most who stand on there tend to be of the soap dodging persuassion.....no offence intended of course....so a fresh breeze blowing through their assembled ranks can be a God send of a summers evening.

#2 Leeds Tykes RUFC
#3 Leeds Rhinos, sad but true.

Scraping into the play offs is a risky strategy though William as well you know.
You Loiners are used to winning games regularly and the last couple of years has not been well received, if only on the Forum!!!
I think you know that and your just being mischevious!!

| Got to laugh with this love in lets face facts we didnt have any top notch players that Leeds,Wire,Saints,Wigan wanted or they would have been in like a shot.Yes they didnt have to loan us players but it wouldnt have done those players any good to have been scratching their backsides on the sidelines would it.
