Another thing that won’t help us, other than we apparently don’t have any money left in budget for further recruitment, is that Catalans very public lambasting of the pitch won’t have helped the desire of other coaches to send their players here short term due to the perceived enhanced risk of injury. I reckon Gaskell probably will be our fullback for the next few weeks.

Now you mention it, what about Liam Kay, good under high ball, more pace than Gaskell ,has played stand off and FB before. Most importantly he has guts and will not pretend to try and tackle.

Not the worst call. With Hood back fit he can be moved without too much disruption as well.

He clearly can. He just didn't have a good game. Same as nearly everyone else. He wasn't the reason we lost by 60.

That would have been a really good suggestion, but Aekins limped off on Sunday and now Pickersgill, who is Fev's 3rd or 4th choice full back (behind Aekins, Kheirallah and maybe Hall) looks likely to start for Fev..

Hull at home last season, played well in that game and he scored the try at the end that took it to golden point. Backed it up with a decent enough game the following week in the win against Warrington.

Look he's a guy that has played the majority of his career at stand off and probably been at his most consistant for us in the centres. But he can play fullback even if it is the weakest of the 3 positions he plays. He is far from a natural there and i'd very much prefer we had another genuine option but we haven't. For me the problem lies with the people who made the decision to go with him as our back-up option in such an important position.

Mr.Carter very quiet these days don't think he will splash out for a replacement. If it doesn't concern bricks, mortar or money saving I don't think he's that interested or so it seems.

Damned if he does damned if he doesn't maybe but the priority of most clubs is getting people through the turnstiles and to do that you've got to have a competitive team. We are two weeks in and struggling to find a reputable fulback. This lack of cover in such an important position should have been picked up long ago. We can't go through a season in this position and the buck stands with the man at the top.
