As for the 5 good years, I want a return on my squad builder investment and to lose him just coming into his prime means some other club will reap that benefit, at least when we were a selling club we got money for these type of players.

For a player who has shown so much passion and determination for the club it seems to me it wouldn't have taken that much more to keep him.

Batch has really come good during the 2nd half of the season and with Ashurst not getting any younger, it would have been nice to see him stay.
His form over the past couple of months has been outstanding and it's massive credit to the lad, playing in a losing side and with a different gig lined up for next season, that he has really put his hand up and given 100%.
Cant knock his effort or loyalty and I wish him well for whatever comes next.

As for Gale i don’t know who you were watching last night but the one i was seeing was way off the pace, like he has been all season. A couple of badly dropped grubbers by us does not make a good performance for me. It would be more akin to the Brough signing.

Your defence of the board is admirable if not surprising with numerous posts especially the sudden decision based on one game that Gale would be good for us and strangely you feel for at least two years. With regards Batchelor let’s face it based on recent seasons any club is bigger than us and we had until the first of May to try to sign him to a new deal. I expect he would not move for less but did we try because I am still uncertain if we even spoke to him for the reasons I have stated previously.
What I find really worrying is your (I say your) view that we face another season of penny pinching on the squad but you are correct this is the decision of MC not the coach.
We must have lots of money in the budget for next season do you have anymore players YOU ? feel we need to sign.
The bottom line is based on your unique position that once again if we dodge relegation this season we can expect the same if not worse next. I would hope that the club would think the supporters deserve better and we have been given another opportunity to sort things out but it looks like they believe we will accept anything because they saved the club. I guess some will but also many will not and another struggling season in a time of financial crisis will not generate enough new supporters to replace those who have had enough and walked away from the game and the club.

We will see, what do you believe our strategy will be next season with regards the squad. We have always found it easier to offload players but much more difficult to find suitable replacements at the salary we are willing to pay.
I think it’s clear that next seasons squad will be the one MC wants not necessarily the coach.

I also kept a close on on Gale. He is an aging player still thinking he has it in him. I dont see him everygame, but many Hull fans believe he has been a terrible signing. I am not that fussed about Miller leaving but Gale comming our way would be a backward step . I would hope we could do much better, even though we constantly hear we have no money.

Always sad to lose one who has developed so well. I've been very impressed with him this season but as others have said "you can't keep them all".

Ellis , Westwood ,Hunte, Atkins , all going on to have Stellar careers , so losing Batch is nothing new to our club . Let’s all calm down and see what Pochings plans are going forwards before the long knives are drawn and the assassinations begin . We’re the best and at times the worst armchair fans out there for chip oil talk and unsubstantiated rumours . Give the lad some space and time to pull a team together before the condemnations start . We’ve all to a man wanted a shake up of the team , it’s started so sit tight and enjoy the ride . We slated miller throughout most of the season for his ineffectiveness on prising open defences , he wins 4 and now he’s the messiah, you can’t have your cake and eat it I’m afraid . I for one are looking forwards to another season in super league and also new players coming to the club , exciting times Ahead

I may have missed this but I don’t remember seeing anything from MC regarding what we offered players or if indeed we did.

Some of you are shall we say the best fans an owner could wish for because you are happy to go along with the loss of our most marketable players without question. It also appears you are happy to go along with season after season of just surviving with little prospect of any change.
It is possible to support the team but that doesn’t make it necessary to accept everything they do especially if you feel it is to the detriment of the club’s future. I agree they saved the club 10 years ago but based on recent seasons we are slowly seeing it decline on the field.
We have a plan go with a weak squad to save money and hope to keep in touch with the bottom club and then as the season reaches its conclusion bring in players including some on loan in the hope it helps us survive.
