Does anyone know why this match was changed from Friday to Sunday? I know the club are calling it an inclusion day,(bringing in different groups/communities), but we now only have a 7 day turnaround before the cup game, whereas Wigan get a 10 day break. I agree we should always play our strongest 17, but how much do we want a cup final appearance? I would love one this year as always.

Frankly the are all an improvement over last weeks ref.

That's simply a financial decision I would think, Child and Hick are full time, if they used part time flag wavers they'd have to pay them, maybe Hick and Child are first on in the fixtures.

certainly was a close call again but he's got to be in more control, I'd rather he played the ball slower than keep cocking up

I don't know the stats but watching the two games I would think our error count is relatively low (certainly compared to recent seasons) and given we are looking to play a high tempo and off loading game I don't think we are doing too bad.

Its a balance of risk vs reward I suppose even with the quick play the balls.


on a broader note ... I am quite nervous of this Salford team, they have a talented spine, some pace and quality on the edges and a couple of very good forwards.... anything less than a clean performance by Trinity is likely to end in defeat.

That’s the key to victory for me as well ,cutting out the penalties ,not just Salford but any team if presented with 6 plays on your 20 is going to take some stopping. We’ve been good with the handling errors so far this season and I see no reason why that should change for this one ,and I’m sure Battye will have had one to one play the ball coaching after yet again failing to play it correctly to stamp out that silly error creeping into his game . Lino/Miller look like men enjoying their rugby behind our go forward pack and I can’t see Salford getting any joy going up against our pack , but rather they’ll target our edges rather than up the middle .Keep it clean ,error free and I see no other outcome but a win ,may not be big but it’ll be a win

I'm not under estimating Salford, they are a solid squad.
We can beat them, but only if we are on the top of our game.

If we do things right and don't under estimate them then we should beat them, hope our confidence after three good wins does not turn into complacency.

It's important that we maintain some good momentum going into the Wigan game.
Hopefully we pick up another win and dont suffer any injuries

After 6 games we are 6th in terms of errors on 64 (an average of almost 11 per game). Hull KR have made the most with 69, Hull FC the least with 47
In the Warrington league game however we only made 6 errors compared to Warrington's 11, probably a big factor in getting the result.
Salford made 11 against Leeds and are currently 2nd in the table with 68 errors.

Does not sound to bad to me ,when you think of some of the weather we have played in .At home Leeds and the French team spring to mind

Lets hope we don't have the typical banana skin game. Even under Willie we suffered that defeat at Leigh late last season.

Have to say there is a lot of rubbish and downright lies talked about Trinity but our ability not to follow through on success is a truism in my book. Its not just that we so often don't win these games but that we don't even compete.

Let's hope WP has found a solution to that

I actually feel sorry for Battye on a few occasions this season he's been penalised when genuinely trying to play the ball 'properly' but with opposition players all over him. There was one I think it was at Catalans where he did everything correctly and there was the slightest of bobbles when his foot contacted the ball and he was penalised for it...The solution is quite simple really....just stand up and make no effort to play the ball with your foot like the majority and he will have no issues...seems daft to me that those attempting to do it right and it being a little scruffy get pinged while those who make no effort whatsoever to play the ball with the foot are ok?

There was definitely some interference last Sunday, it was a real 50/50 as a few of his have been. Used to happen to Dave a lot, he gets away with it now but some of his play the balls are still shocking.

May be adding 2 and 2 together and getting 9 but theres arpund 4 players mising from reserves who you would expect to play maybe we picked up some knocks

I haven’t seen the reserves team released yet but we shall see. I’ve every confidence in the squad depth on recent showings.

Ive seen team and there are a few not playing i thought would be unless in first team but like i say i could be massively wrong and i have confidence too i wasnt moaning just saying.

Maybe one eye on Wigan game week after, big boost for the club if we won that .Or W P as shown he is not a Coach who will not risk a player if any player not 95 plus fit who ever you are .As said much more confident in the squad depth than I have had for a long time

Not a lot to moan about , Just shows how far we have turned the corner with hard work from the club .Beginning to look forward to match days again .With the attitude they are showing on the field you feel you want to get behind them win or lose

I really hope it's only some fans that are thinking about the Wigan game and not Willie or the team. 100% concentration and team selection into the Salford game.

I presume the fit again Gaskell will be playing in the reserves to get his match fitness back.

Maybe they're injured
