from memory when Finns form dropped Sam still didnt get many games. He (Sam ) never let himself or the team down.
I also think CC showed loyalty to finn when he should have dropped him.

For crying out loud Williams was offered a big contract and turned it down TWICE!!!! How much more is CC supposed to be into a a player. Some of you need to get some perspective and stop blaming people and back those who actually play for the club instead of these endless and pathetic what ifs!

Finally Finn got picked because he was always our best playmaker, nothing to do with loyalty.

Melbourne wouldn’t look out of place in the NFL with the amount of forward passes they get away with.

Maybe he wants to develop his game at Canberra
Maybe he doesn't like our fans
Maybe doesn't like the rain in Yorkshire

Maybe he's not a Wakefield player and it's completely irrelevant.

He is having a great game though. I like him. There are other teams in NRL that could benefit from his signing too.

We may have offered him a big contract, but weren't we prepared to spend what would probably be a large sum of money on an over the hill prop not too long ago.

I will be honest, I was a fan and was disappointed when he didn't come back, but I think we need to move on and look at the here and now. Its early days with Lino, I don't think he's the organiser we were needing, but very similar to both Millky and Ricky, though I think Lino is the best of the 3.

Personally, I think if we can stay up, maybe replace Milky, with a quality organising 7

It was a family issue which stopped him from coming over wasn't it? Think he had signed but there was a change in circumstance.

These things happen, especially with signing players from the other side of the world.

The point is we wanted him. He was second fiddle first time but that was because Finn and Miller were exceptional that year.

All the same CC saw enough to ask him to stay and then ask him to return. I’m really not sure what else he could do.

Memories play tricks on people, Williams did ok but neither Miller or Finn ever looked like they should be dropped to make way, it would have been grossly unfair if they had.

I assume it was in Chesters mind that Williams would eventually take over from Finn but it simply didn’t work out that way.

Finns form dropped but he still got a game, his passing became telegraphed and he totally lost his kicking game.

No it didn’t, not in that season.

As I say people believe what they want to believe.

At no point during that season did Williams play better than Finn.

It just baffles me how the moment a player leaves Trinity they suddenly become ten times the player they were when with us.

No there weren’t. You are out by a season, it was the 2018 season that Finn started to struggle.

Well I seem to remember people screaming for Sam to get more game time, and talk of Flnn moving to hooker.
Didn't Sam start on the bench a number of times and not used for a couple.
For me Sam looked and played the part, took the line on, scored trys, kicked goals and had a very good kicking game,

Not to mention the try assists and 40/20’s.

Think his impact on the pitch was a big factor in what was a very good season for us.

It was aided though too, with having a forward unit that was on top of their game, which more often than not our pack was dominant and put us on the front foot.

Something which has been sadly lacking for some time now, both in the pivots and forwards

No they weren’t, in fact most were claiming he wasn’t worth a quota spot, they were also wrong.
