| Quote ="Willzay"If you walked down from the Gallows Lane entrance, there was a large area with a lot of shrubbery that made for a pleasant walk. Now it's just churned up mud with pieces of wood splinters scattered everywhere. Might not sound bad, if you walk there regularly it's pretty shocking. Same thing has happened recently to Walton Nature Reserve.

Don't know about Seckar Woods but Walton Colliery mess was caused by Network Rail and, I presume, it's subcontractor clearing trees from the railway embankment. When I pointed out to them that they were making a right mess of the pathway ..... well let's say they weren't sympathetic or customer friendly! It wouldn't have been too bad if they'd have stayed on the path but they were churning up the grass verges and everywhere with big pickups, small diggers and large chippers.

I can understand clearing the rail embankment. But like you say the mess they left was ridiculous. What I don't understand (I don't suppose you've seen it today), is why they've taken a tractor all the way round to the other side and mowed down trees, bushes - absolutely nowhere near any sort of road or train track, and just absolutely left a wreck. I can only assume the Council's OK'd it.

Five minutes walk from Sir Rodney's gaff, Will. Perhaps he's had the area cleared for a new stadium.

| Quote ="vastman"Just had a very interesting conversation with a very knowledgeable individual who sadly I can't name. He seems to think the BV upgrade is a goer and that certain people have been given a rough ride which in his opinion is unfair. He may be right he may not who knows but he seems to think that people should hold off the finger wagging (me included) and give it a chance. So I will personally lay off for now but the clock is still very much ticking imho.
'"
The person who told you that should ask themselves why is all this finger wagging happening in the first place. If they want it to stop then they should produce something tangible and I am sure it would. So its up to them, after all we have had lie after lie for so many years and dead line after deadline broken.
If you also remember this latest scheme involved the present legitimate trust being side lined and a phoney trust set up in its place. Maybe they are finding it hard to find sufficient gullible puppets for their trust and without that, the basis of the plan falls at the first hurdle.
Last but not least it seems this person has already accepted that the original deal we were hoping for has already gone and we should doff our hats and be thankful for what we are getting. So do we sit quietly while they walk all over us, continue to lie, continue to offer lesser and lesser deals. Well In my opinion I think the scum bags should get as much flak as possible as long as they continue to hold out for what we are owed as a club and as the community of Wakefield. If they don't like the flak ,then they should be thankful they have not had all the crap we have had to swim in over all these years with the bunch of snakes.

One thing that is of interest is that on the WMDC planning portal it says the 'determination deadline' for Newmarket reserved matters is tomorrow. I'm not sure if these things are actually stuck to, but it should be interesting to see what happens.
https://planning.wakefield.gov.uk/onlin ... HN7QQ04200
With 180 objections (including one from an MP) hopefully the pressure is on now.

Couldn't agree more mate, I'm just passing it on - the credibility of this individual is on the line, certainly with me but at the end of the day that's what they said so I'm passing it on. History will judge I suppose.

I contacted all three and actually did get 1 reply!
Basically he said he was on the planning committee and therefore couldn't comment.
The other two never reply to my emails and one claims to be a Trinity fan

| Out of the 3 I emailed only got a reply from David Dews saying he was on planning committee so can't comment on the development. Charlie Keith and Cllr Johnstone? both labour didn't respond.

| I don't live in Wakefield so don't have any Wakefield councillors. For those of you who do and tried to make contact with them may I suggest you bring this issue up and their lack of communication when they next come knocking for your vote. Mind you I notice that nowadays politicians would rather leave a leaflet through the door than actually knock on a door and god forbid talk to someone.

| I gave up on my Councillors, where as previously the position was 'the behaviour of the developer is a disgrace' it changed at the beginning of 2017 to a Box-scripted defence of the council.

| I'm from Cas, and I hope you get something sorted, either, the re development, of your ground, or the one at Newmarket. Good luck. I think both clubs need a ground what is fit for purpose, we have all been waiting a long time, and had plenty of false promises. .

Amidst all the talk about Manni's cryptic tweets, its important to remember that the planning application for Newmarket's Reserved Matters is still PENDING!
This is despite the determination deadline being almost 2 months ago! One could only assume that 180 objections (including one from an MP) is making the council hesitant. Let's not take our eye off this application; the nature of the objector's comments makes it really important.
Remember this application is important regardless of whether you want a stadium at Newmarket or Belle Vue. A favourable outcome on this application is crucial for ANY stadium project to go ahead.

I was looking at this the other week and was hoping the delay was something to do with the proposed Belle Vue development.

| I’m no expert in this situation, but does anyone think it could be beneficial to send a few emails around to Andrea Jenkyns, enquiring about the delay? Quoting the application reference number 17/03102/REM
It would show we haven’t forgotten and will remain vigilant. It could be the council’s plan to make a decision when everyone has moved on. So let’s just, not move on!
Like I say I’m no expert, but what are people’s thoughts?

Exactly !!
And for all those out there who still think Belle Vue will be re developed, dream on, the bloke has no intention of spending a penny on the dump.
I also think his pathetic antics are doing us a favour because anyone who still feels Belle Vue would be a good option should now stop and think about it. The last thing this club needs is an individual like Hussain having any influence ,control or involvement.

True, but what if it was the only option on the table outside of upping sticks and going to Dewsbury? Which in my opinion (If permanent) would be the end of Wakefield Trinity.

| MC did an interview with TalkSport this week and said something along the lines of he had been in contact with council employees who have asked him to be patient (like he hasn't been already!), things are happening in the background, he hopes to release news soon. Admitted that if nothing happens quickly we will once again look down other avenues.
You can listen back to the interview on the TalkSport website - [urlhttps://talksport.com/rugby-league/rugby-league-talksport-2-podcast-3-may-2018-180503281387[/url - the interview starts about 12 mins in, stadium discussion about 18 mins in.

Could be the most important meeting in our great clubs history and for sport in the City of Wakefield, let's hope there's a deal all parties can work with and a positive outcome.
