| There are plenty of big football clubs who share grounds, Milan and Inter, Roma and Lazio, Bayern and 1860 munich, so it can work very well and it certainly has a lot of advantages
Whilst I appreciate our situation is on a much smaller scale than the 100,000 seater in Rome for example, it is certainly a possibility but the heads of terms would become rather complicated. It would need a trust to run it and divide the profits/ costs equally between the clubs. The end closest to Wakefield is Trinitys end. then end closest to castleford is the tigers end.

When I mentioned bigger fish I was talking of the thread in general, not having a go at you.

| A long lasting ground share will only work if the ownership/rent/income is split equally, and the ground is roughly equal distance between both clubs. If either of these can't be reached or made possible then it is the death sentence of the club with the poorer deal, and likely a more protracted death sentence of the club who had the better deal unless they can make up the difference lost by the unequal partner going under

So are you seriously suggesting that Castleford would give up a ground in Castleford that has cost them £1 with no strings attached. Move out of town and share with us ?
Rather than waste your time on here trying to convince people, I would suggest you suddenly appear on the nutjob forum in the same way you have suddenly appeared on here. Then offer your brilliant suggestion to them . If they respond favourably your argument could gain credibility.

| Quote ="FSW"Somewhere along the line there will have to be a compromise.
At the moment we haven't moved forward at all over the past 6 years and Cas in all reality are in the same position. There are two developers who will have to find £30+ million between them to build two stadiums and the Council is committed to £4million in contributions.
Glasshoughton may be ok for a stadium but will never have the community facilities which are promised to the people of Wakefield city & MDC. Newmarket has the capacity to deliver everything that is required. The likelihood is that neither ground will move forward in the next 5 years which leaves Trinity extinct and Cas in serious strife.
The compromise. Build a 20000 seater stadium at Newmarket along with all the promised community facilities to be funded jointly by the developers. The Council raises £30 million in "the City" in the same way Leeds Council have done for Headingley to allow development to commence immediately. Interest payments will be met from the Council's £4 million contribution so giving them an incentive to "encourage" Yorkcourt to make progress with their development.
If the interest payments are less than £4 million the council gains.
The Cas developer gains by having more land to develop.
Yorkcourt gain by having the opportunity to show they can behave in a civilised manner.
The clubs gain by being in a new stadium by 2019 season
The community gains the facilities it is desperate for.
Wakefield gains by retaining the community development work by Trinity
Cas gain by having a bigger, better stadium sooner.
The Community Trust would own the entire facilities with joint anchor tenants and between them they would establish a mechanism for funding maintenance and development of the site.
Everyone gains by avoiding court action.
Cas gain by retaining their equity in Wheldon Lane and by not suffering further delays whilst the Council fight a court battle.
[uMIchael Carter said that if he and Steve Gill had been in charge 10 years ago they would have a joint stadium by now.[/u
There is still time.'"
It's true they get along really well by all accounts & he's asaid it a few times on Radio Yorkshire RL show. If both of them were in charge 10 years ago, we'd have got together and had a stadium built around the Normanton area that benefitted both clubs years ago. Instead around that time we had that old CEO up at Cas Richard Wright, writing a formal objection against Newmarket.

| Is it me or does it seem like box has an unhealthy liking for Cas (the town), to the detriment of Wakefield (the city).
Never really considered it before, I mean I'm all for sharing the wealth around the district generally but he just seems so Cas centric, its difficult to ignore.
I was reading somewhere an interview he gave not long back, in which he was describing his methology, he went on to mention various small towns and villages he hoped to invest efforts for regeneration.
Ain't nothing wrong with that, we've lost a lot of industry in the area generally, what with the pits going and one thing and another but this methodology mentions nowhere west of Fev, it was all Hemsworth, Ponty, Cas, Knottingley.....which seemed odd, I mean if you're sharing it out, there is nowhere deserving of investment west of Fev or something ?
It seems odd to me because, well I don't really know that side of Wakey, I'm from the North/West side, I don't go there for anything ever, I'm more likely to go to Leeds, I have no links at all with the West/South Cas/Ponte region.
Not that I don't think it shouldn't get its share its just that it doesn't seem like Wakey itself and the NW is getting a fair crack of the whip these days.
Course, the current stadia debacle just adds further credence to that assumption.
An interesting box snip
“You have to make sure that the rivalries we have always had with our distinct communities doesn’t undermine what we have to do and doesn’t become a weakness rather than a strength."
I dunno if that is a word to the communities that aren't sharing the Cas centric bias, or a simple say one thing and do the complete opposite politician special.

Box and his cronies are all from that neck of the woods...that's how he built his powerbase - by promoting them into prominent positions which were going to be financially beneficial to them in the way of extra income from sitting on influential committees and beneficial to him as they will blindly follow his edict and vote through all of his mantras and obviously not stand up to him if they wish to remain on said financially beneficial committees.
Since the weasel came to power, the western side of the district has been shafted time after time

Yeah, if I were in her position I'd try to stay as neutral as possible, save any accusation of bias. It almost looks that she's flaunting it to the edge of being confrontational. Then again I am a bit sensitive to this development.

| Yes, just looked on her twitter page.
It is like a cross between Castleford fans forum, and a Castleford visitor guide.
Just replied to one of her tweets stating WMDC covers more than WF10.

| Wasn't she the Councillor brought to task when she put her house near Thornes Park up for sale, just after the proposal of a Stadium development there was publicised?
Don't know where she lives now?

| Yet she has the front to turn up at Belle Vue for their matches. As we're now at the point of getting nasty I'd make a public point of refusing her entry to The ground, Box as well though as a Cas director (if that's true) we'd be pushing our luck with the RFL

There is no way Box can be a Director at Cas, he is a shareholder. If he were a Director he would have to declare it and would not be allowed to have any involvement with the stadium proposals at five towns park

Surely a shareholder stands to profit from a private enterprise being gifted a brand new stadium?
