I reckon the council have been tricking us all along. Inside that giant white box that we all think is cold storage is actually an 80,000 seater stadium they've been developing in secret along with the RFL and EFL to be used as a 'Wembley of the North'. There's going to be a grand unveiling in a few months time where they wrap a massive ribbon around the whole box and then the walls peel away when Peter Box cuts the ribbon to reveal the stadium

Oh, and we wont be given permission to play there

After reading our stadium news on Sky Sports, although not saying what exactly it is, I take it that MC not disregarding the new offer it must be positive. Come on here expecting upbeat light at the end of the tunnel stadium talk and trust members don't seem happy. Are you not happy with the proposal or at not been invited to the meeting surely MC will have let you know what's happening or is the new proposal nothing to do with the trust?

Maybe he's not upbeat because there is nothing to be upbeat about.
IF, this is a "stay at BV" or "move to Dewsbury" meeting, whilst it is important, it isnt shout it from the rooftops stuff and IF this is the case, we will be in just the same position in 12 months time, with the added threat to a new SL structure, which is already being muted but, perhaps the clubs who may want to take our place aren't quite ready yet.

Let's face it, until we have real positive news and the construction company moves on site at BV, Newmarket or, elsewhere, we are under threat, which is a crying shame, given that we have had our best season on the pitch for the best part of 40 years.

We are aware of the proposal and I am sure there will be something official from the Club this week.

Not being invited to the meeting is not an issue as both Michael and Chris are Trust Members.

All I am able to say at this stage is that the Trust and the Club are 100% together on this.

Whispers circulating about a proposal to build a stadium on the area around the new relief road. Could be rubbish but for me that would be the perfect location.

Sounds to me like they have been offered an alternative new build but are looking at the implications of our rent bill? Or am I reading too much into that.

That would be good but looks like TRB quashed that rumour on twitter, I'm going for redeveloping Belle Vue but with MC saying the proposal was totally out of the blue it could be anything. Thornes Park anyone?

It seems obvious that a proposal has been made that will provide a home but will not provide long term sustainability, which means that MC would be crazy to accept it. He says as much in the linked articles. I'm guessing, therefore, that the club's position is, yes, but on the condition that you allow us to make money from the plot so that we can grow as a club.

Out of the blue quote by MC means anything could be on the table? Really hope that finally some positive news emerges without 'strings attached'!

Some good players have signed long term contracts and some have moved from the other side of the world to play for us, hopefully they know more than us re the ground situation.

I agree, though I suppose there's not much difference to them between playing out of Belle Vue or the Tetley stadium, it's not like they're being asked to move 100 miles away (I hope)
