Its a pity that when we are asked to maintain confidences that information is leaked. As it now appears to be in the the public domain I can confirm that we have been advised that Rodney Walker has indeed set up a new Trust, although it does not appear to have been registered with Companies house yet, and that Yorkcourt have said that they will only deal with Rodney Walker's Trust and not the Trust that was specifically established by Wakefield MDC to be the facilitator in the delivery of the Community Stadium for the people of Wakefield. I'll leave you to come to your own conclusions as to why Rodney Walker resigned from the Trust and set up his own.

We are clearly furious about these events and we have a further meeting with the Council next week following which I expect there to be a statement made.

That may end up being the case and if it is then it's more power to our elbow but remember we have been to the media well more than once recently, including an ill timed 'nothing has happened yet' rant in the Star just a couple of weeks after the council meeting where promises were made. That made zero difference and if we keep going back too often saying the same thing the press won't have the intrest as it won't have the same impact and why give the council any wriggle room by way of an excuse. Also bear in mind given recent events in this country both the authorites and the media are putting their efforts into other rather more pressing matters than a sports stadium for a few people in West Yorkshire. Timing is key to any 'uprising' and doing it now will not have the impact it should, we might only have one shot left at that route and we need to get it right.

I'd suggest that if Yorkcourt don't like the name on the 'new' S106 agreement then they don't have to sign it, remember they are not obliged by law to agree to a new one. So the current S106 would remain in place which we all know isn't fit for purpose and can be applied to be removed/altered after 5 years, which in this case would be December from memory.

Comrade Box also mentions if anyone wants to know why developer only wants to work with new Trust they need to ask the developer.

Around 8 years ago, I was a guest of Mrs Kear at a game (the one where Diversity played and Danny Brough was sent off for angrily abusing a touch judge, outraged at a decision when we were 50 nil up). In the pre-game buffet, Rodders was there and I was sitting opposite him as he shovelled in his vol au vents, justifying everything with "I'm getting you a stadium". The word "I" was the one used.

Here we are, years on, and I'll use the word "you". You haven't got us a stadium. Leave me some sausage rolls. You haven't earned them.

I'm guessing the correspondence went along the lines of, "Dear Rodney. We've almost been forced into spending millions of pounds we don't want to spend. We could do with some more years of inactivity. Would you mind setting up another Trust? Hot buffet? Of course. Cheers."

Precisely - yet another example, as if we needed one, of how the networks of power in this country protect each other, to the detriment of the little people. Small scale this may be - but it still stinks of corruption.

I would be interested to know if Rodney has any financial stake in any of the entities involved in this proposed new arrangement, or indeed in YCP, or any of its shell or subsidiary companies...

All along this a planning matter, it's upto the local planning department to enforce the S106 . Does the leader of the council check on all planning decisions or just this one.

If any financial incentive delivers it, I don't care. Just deliver it.

I don't think anyone who attended that council meeting a few months ago was actually taken in by the "I'm your mate" tactics of Box with his crappy jokes and ineffective speeches.
Just prior to that meeting the protest ball was well and truly rolling and that meeting was just to take the heat off Box and his cronies for another few weeks. I think it is time for a noisy picket outside Wakefield town hall and the Press brought back on board.
As for Rodders I will again refer to what he said at the inquest five years ago: " I DELIVERED THE NEW WEMBLEY STADIUM". Well, it looks like you may well have met your match when it comes to delivering a small community stadium on the outskirts of a small Yorkshire city, Rodders old chap!!!!

Between Mackie, Box and Walker they've well and truly squirmed out of a situation, Houdini would be proud. The fact Mackie will only deal with the faux trust is testament to the corruption that's is going on here.
