David is a larger than life character, great for him to stay even if it's just for morale!

Fafita has had a similar positive impact as Fritz did, big men playing to their size which is brilliant to watch. The total opposite to watching Anderson and Shirke. Excellent signing and brilliant work by MC as I bet there was a great deal of interest from elsewhere.

Great news that David Fifita has signed on a long deal. He is quality prop forward and a real crowd pleaser with his no nonsense play.



Good news about Miller as others have said be good to get Keegan Hirst also signed on a 2 year deal as he has already proved he is Super League quality. When Hirst and Fifita are both on the field Trinity tend to dominate in the pack.

In spite of the headline news and the title of this thread people still can't spell Fifita's name correctly. As Americans say "Go figure ".

I think personally that Fafita was the best player by a country mile. A good signing.

Not for me, Grix and wood were more pivotal in our win.

Woody did 51 tackles and played 80 minutes - hi best ever performance imho.

Yet another player slagged off by the know all brigade - we are lucky to have him, a far more reliable player than Moore ( who I rated)

Yeah, Grix was the man.......blimey he looks tired though sometimes.

Can't really argue with Fifita for mom, he took it to them all game as did the rest.
Big fan of England, he looks like he trying hard, he's just not quite hitting the straps like he was, mebbe he's still coming back a bit

It's all subjective - I have no issue with Fifita mom. It was more the country mile comment which TBF was unchaacteristicallly ott for jinjer.

IT was 1-15am after a full day out and watching the Cribs and I was trying to be funny but was a little too subtle, I spelt Fifita deliberately wrong expecting the grammar police to jump on it but they didn't. Memo to self, don't post when pished!

Very accomplished performance against s capable group of Widnes players... who are not far off a decent set of results....


Three things:

1) how good is Scott Grix ????
2) loved the patience we showed ... especially in defence
3) the contribution of Craig Huby is huge


And 3a) Leegan Hirst is really taking his chance well

Grix isn't the best player that ever played for Wakefield but he is one of the best signings.
He has made a team with potential function like a team with fast attack and disciplined defence. We really haven't had a player who influences the game as much as this in decades.

Ere....would we like to see Fifita at the board with John Wells doing the post match analysis....lol

John Wells is excellent btw, he has buckets of enthusiasm without going uber tech with his analysis bullet points..

Yes it's irritating that Sky clearly recognise the attritubutes of a good presenter/pundit in employing Carney and Wells yet still insist on giving us Barrie and Terry.

Personally I never get involved with talking about individual players on here whether it be good or bad, I sooner leave it to others to do that, Vasty for one has sang long and loud and taken quite a bit of ridicule in the defence of players at this club like Grix, Finn and others who for no reason at all came under unwarranted criticism, it's good to see him proved right although I don't see many queuing up wanting to admit he was right all along with these players

For me Fifita had a good game however I would have given Grix man of the match, I thought he was highly influential on our result.

BTW I loved BJB etc impersonating Spider Man web spinning after scoring a try.

I will certainly say he was right.
I always said Finn would and was good but I thought Grix would be backup.
I'm not sure anyone including Vasty expected it to work out quite this good though.

Becoming really a fans favourite.

Like the way he stays out longer at the end applauding the fans.

Fifita deserves his contract and will probably settle down now. Great playet.

Nobody can be totally sure any player will be a success ditto nobody can be sure they will fail though some on here seem to think they know best.

What I did know is Finn was smart. Fundamentally he's all wrong, he's to slow, he's a bit to squat in shape, he's not agile - he has nothing but his brain and that's what's given him a career. Unlike every other attribute a player can have it's the only one that continually improves (unless you're Hock or Chase) - something that had left him and a number of British players under rated. At the end of 2015 what we needed more than anything was a calm player who'd been around the block and in no way felt himself to good for us - for me he was a perfect choice. As were Woods and Grix, it's not all about physicality. Hudds have made a good choice with Ridyard.

The game needs to start looking deeper when signing players.

Dave as beem awsome this season one of best props in sl for me think his defence goes unnoticed somtime too.he really works his socks for team but can also imagine hes great to have around the club too.the thing that pleases me most though is he had offers from club in sl and nrl and no doubt with more money but stayed here has hes happy same for miller too

Fifita has that big daft lad schtick down to a tee - but the contribution to morale of a player with his level of destructive power and sense of enjoyment is immeasurable; he's become a fan favourite, and I'd wager that his teammates also love having him around. One of the best signings we've made in a long time.

Meanwhile, Grix and Finn absolutely bossed that game; Finn is like a metronome - he just keeps ticking away doing exactly what's asked of him, without being spectacular or grabbing attention; and Grix has just the right combination of brains, skill and bottle - he almost invariably does the right things at the right time in the right way - and there's huge value in that.
