Given the fact that we have signed up some of our younger players on longer deals, plus some key experienced players too recently, whos to say we dont retain Williams too.

We have already stood up to clubs stating we arent selling players, such as Johnstone, Jowitt and Miller.

Some of the 3-4 top SL clubs already have settled half back combinations.

At the end of the day one of the reasons why Williams came over was to get more game time.

Hope the rumour is true, Miller accepts the offer and it turns out to be a 3 year deal.

Chester has said he wants long term deals for both Miller and William. He also said he wants to build a team around them.

That would be good and make sense if true.

Always think if your building a team round certain players it should be those in the pivotal positions

So mods are we going to let this spineless little get away with making this personal - or is it yet another rule for one.

In this case I don't know what a donk is so I can't really rule on that.

But I think I've said this before. If you don't like the threads to get personal, don't make them personal yourself. You can't pick and choose.
We are known for being pretty strict on here, to protect the Wakefield fans who post and read, so I'm ok with how we deal with things but there is a process in place to raise something with Admin if you are not happy.

Miller last year looked good on our winning streak, he also committed himself to a two year deal before the MPG, even though he didn't know which league we would be in.
Let's not forget that this is probably the best squad we have had in a fair few years and the best half he's been paired with.
At this point, we could have been going into today's game unbeaten!
We just need to be a bit smarter and that will come.
Chester obviously knows what he wants, 'stability', so he doesn't have to go scratching and searching for another HB pairing next season that needs time to gel.

Depends who comes calling but the club doing contract business early is critical. Has his faults Miller but at 23/24 his best is yet to come and if we can tie him and Williams down it would be fantastic

I think he was becoming more of an all round half back.

Warrington saw something of him when he was top of their shopping list to replace Sandow.

Those who dont think he is creative need to give their head a shake and look at the SL stats from last year.

He was on 18, identical to Finn. Does that mean neither were creative.

I don't think he's creative and I'm not alone but apparently on this forum that makes you EITHER stupid or obnoxious.... and we are the ones who need to give our heads a shake - unbelievable - shame he's not French and a HKR cast off or you'd be calling him a legend.

Im genuinely not knocking the lad but, in a time of fake news and alternative facts, real facts are important.

He would have signed a Super League contract that would have become null and void in the event of our relegation. He could have simply walked away.
I'm not saying he would have done, he could have signed another contract. Just st pointing out that there wasn't really anything for him to to lose by signing it.

Am I allowed to propose a middle way?

Miller is obviously a hb with blinding speed - of foot and thought - but he lacks the ability to read a game in the way that say, Brough or Gale do; so half of what he does either goes wrong, or comes to nothing. But - when he does try these things and they do come off - it can be spectacularly good. Such as his ridiculous Magic Weekend drop goal, or his try from Johnstone's less than brilliant kick against Salford yesterday.

On balance, I think he's definitely worth hanging on to; he has the added benefit of putting doubt in defenders due to his unpredictability, and he's a pretty solid defender for a half back to boot, so whilst far from perfect, I reckon he delivers a pretty decent RoI overall.

For who we are and what we are - he's probably a better player than we can reasonably expect to have for an extended period of time - so I'd be really happy if we could tie him up for a few seasons.
