| Quote ="Eastern Wildcat"Thats exactly my point Cheshirecat, he can cover a few positions and is better than Grix and also considerably younger. He is also a very competent goal kicker.
I will also agree with other posters saying he isnt a great player but to be fair didnt get too many opportunities at Warrington. Given that most clubs other side of pennines are higher up the ladder than us with a higher calibre of player, why would they be interested if he is poor.
If we have Miller and Williams in the halves and Jowitt full back, then he would be more back up for those positions but to avoid the burn out situation our players have had this year then it would be worth rotating our squad a bit more so key players remain fresh for longer. I would only do this if the player coming in was good enough so that the first choice players missing are hardly noticed.
To me if it was Grix or Wood coming in I dont think that would happen'"
I'm off to bed now , but your saying clubs this side of the pennines have a better calibre of player than from yorkshire Look at warrington westwood, westerman, Atkins,Linneham or what ever is name is ! Look at wigan Bateman Mcallorum even young Hampshire them two teams have poached loads of young players from yorkshire clubs for years! So were does this better calibre come from.
Leeds and Cas are full of yorkshire lads.

Not sure how you misconstrued what EW said, you must be tired fella. Obviously he was taking about the overall caliber of player of the teams over the Pennines have on their books, especially at Wigan, Saints and Wire, not where they originated from.

I hope Hull KR do win. They bring good numbers and the Hull derby is a great SL fixture.
Said before Kopzcak would be a ideal signing but he would be a for a few clubs also.

| For the good of the game - HKR; Salford, sadly, have added nothing to SL, other than their clown of an owner dragging the game through the mud at every opportunity.

On Bulls board, some wanting Mullally back, this after loads said he was lazy and unfit when he came to us after being on loan at Bulls. Classic!

You sure you're not thinking of Hudds fans Finger? He was only with us a month at the beginning of 2014 and played very well for us. All Bulls fans were disappointed to see him go back to Hudds.

Robert Lui has had some excellent games and is /was a decent tackler with an excellent kicking game.
When Salford were playing well he looked excellent.
Most of their other "top" players now seem to be at Leigh

Here we go again, why would he sign for us if he's as good as you claim.
Good halfbacks are in short supply so I can imagine half a dozen teams with bigger wallets he'd rather join.
I admire your optimism but we need to be realistic. We know MC is a stickler for sticking to a budget and judging by our attendances that isn't a lot of cash.

He signed for Salford and Wakey are better than them
In fairness, I was putting his name forward as a "quality" Salford player, after others had said that they didn't have any players that we may want.

Good point.
However at a distance Salford with a big cheque book and a new stadium probably look pretty good - you only have to google Belle Vue to spot we are not.
I feel for MC and the staff, selling Wakefield to any player must be a nightmare.

Agreed.
Having Kear back on board should help.
IMHO he is one of the most knowledgeable and passionate blokes involved in the sport and he will be able to sell the "dream" (irony overload there) to youngsters, seasoned pro's and hopefully some decent overseas players.
If/when the ground improvements start, this will be a massive help in all areas and for this we keep everything crossed.

| I would prefer Salford to go down as they would probably end up like the bulls when the Dr leaves . Hull Kr would probably still be full time and more of a threat to superleague sides this time next yr . The middle 8s would be a piece of cake for any superleague side next yr with Salford in the championship . The biggest threat would probably be London playing in some park

| Should Hull KR stay up, I would expect to see them have a mass clear out.
I think one of their problems has been the fact that they have thrown a lot of money at 3 half backs, 2 in particular, and really kept their salary cap expenditure relatively low elsewhere, to stay within their budget and the cap.
Maybe some of the Salford players will be following Sheens.

Sheens announcing his move to KR, prior to the season ending, looks very unprofessional now.
It didn't look too clever at the time but, I suppose that Salford v KR (in the MPG)
perhaps seemed unlikely at the time but, as things have panned out, it really doesn't look good.
I know these guys are professional and all that but, just imagine if Salford consign KR to the Championship or if they are in front and then capitulate to give KR the win.
It's certainly going to end in tears but, at least they wont be our's !

i think Sheens has already said he has now pulled out of any further Salford input to avoid a conflict of interest.

| I know the game is do or die for most of the players, especially the fringe players with the talk of lively hoods if dropped to the championship but apparently it's not smooth sailing their also as a little bird told me that the Bulls players haven't been paid last months wages.

It's hard to know what the answer is.
There should be a means of promotion from the Championship into SL and nobody can argue that Leigh have earned their shot at the "big time".
However, the damage that is done to those clubs who over stretch themselves "chasing the dream" and to any club that gets relegated could be terminal.
IF the game is wanting to expand and the inclusion of Toulouse and Toronto suggest that it does, then, we should revert to some kind of franchise system which will at least bring stability to ALL clubs.
Ok, getting into the top flight may be more difficult but, at least nobody should overstretch themselves financially and if youth development was put somewhere near the top of criteria for being in SL, moving forward, this has to be good for the game.
We are faced with a strong possibility of Toulouse and Toronto pushing for a spot in SL over the next 2/3 years which will essentially relegate 2 of the heartland clubs and this issue needs thinking about and dealing with in advance of the 2 new clubs challenging for SL and not wait for a crisis to unfold.
Personally, I want KR to stay up (my Granddad played for them before WW2 came along) but I really fear for Salford if they go down and IF Koucash walks, they would be absolutely stuffed and nobody wants any club to go pop.

| Personally think Sheens is a total disgrace - so the week before his clubs (who paid him for a seasons work) are in the biggest game of the season he walks citing conflict of interest. So presumably any player who has signed for another club can in the following season can say to Mr Sheens as coach - sorry i can't play against that club - hmmm don't think he would take that as an excuse - until I read that I was marginally supporting Hull KR down i will be fully behind the devils .....
