| If BJB is injured along with Lynne then surely Jowitt has to come in at fullback and Morris/Arundel on wing?

I don't think it would do him much good coming into the team in the current situation. He'd be better off going to York with Jordan for a few weeks until we get our new coach and the team are playing a bit (or a lot) better

err, yes it does.
Also I reckon you should take your blinkers off and watch Howarth - the lad can play.

I liked Howarth the first time round and whilst no world beater he doesn't let you down and think he is the closet thing we have to a natural leader. But my bug bear with him is at hooker he doesn't offer enough of a running threat purely because he doesn't do it often enough. Six games in he has only made ten runs, and he's scored from three of them! 37 meters made in total and just nine against saints and none at all the previous week. It makes us much easier to defend against. We need him to keep the defence guessing a little more which would help our halfbacks although i accept when our pack is getting dominated it isn't easy.

| Sorry oh mighty one. God has spoken I must bow down to your superior knowledge. His distribution is prettt slow and he doesn't run from dummy half to any great effect. He's a 13 in my eyes but there's plenty of other options there such as annakin Tupou, Simon etc. He's solid and he can play I agree there but every player should be able to at this level. I don't dislike him, the lad gives 100% every game but he's not the great player you make him out to be

| Howarth strikes me as one of those Moneyball kind of players - unspectacular, under the radar and rarely stands out; but he makes few mistakes, knows when to go for the line and if you calculate how much a try costs, he's probably offers amongst the best RoI in SL.

I agree about Jowitt.
The lad is a natural FB and has plenty of pace plus, he will give 100% effort.
He certainly bust a gut at Fev pre season and deserves a shot.

We've played players at full back who can't tackle, can't catch a high ball, can't organise the defence or know when to link up in attack - and that has happened frequently for more years than I care to remember week in week out. I just wander which of those qualities doesn't Jowitt possess to enable him to be given a shot ?
