| The clubs come on a mile thanks to M C, and I think we can expect a bit of a hit and miss while plans are drawn up. I would hope next season would see improvements in most departments. M C will need a better set up next season and a dedicated team behind him that will buy in to the club system. A good general manager / ops manager who will take the weight of him and take responsibility for marketing, stadium matters match day logistics, and to some extent act as a go between. Its quite often the simple things that make all the difference, and it could be that they are on the back burner while more important things are dealt with. Totally understandable.

The interesting thing is that whilst Poyton has a point. He knew it was an old board and he also knew we were playing Leeds on Thursday. I also suspect 99.9% of people in Wakefield that follow Trinity also know that. I would imagine the only people who will miss the game on Thursday due to it not being advertised on said board is poynton and his teddy.

| Something needs sorting. We can't afford for any supporter to walk away, esp with the way attendances are massively
down this year.
Everything ON the field at the moment is spot on. If we could get everything OFF the field right attendances will shoot up.

When the team meetings at work end up with complaints about the lack of teaspoons in the kitchen.
When your concerns about your neighbourhood revolve around next door not mowing their lawn enough.
When your health concerns involve pulling your hair back to see if its receding.

| This club can't afford to lose any of its supporters and it is a small job changing the board to advertise the next home match. Although OTT with their comments and subsequent strop they have a point. If no bugger outside of the dedicated supporters know a game is on their unlikely to turn up. It's basic stuff that does not require a marketing genius.
On the radio last might MR said they were exploring the possibility of employing a marketing professional but as ever it would come down to funding. Personally I think they would pay for themselves but I don't hold the purse strings.
The club are now ramping up their community involvement once again so maybe we will see an upturn in attendances once their good work starts to filter through.

| The point missed here is that the banner is quite small localised marketing. It isn't designed in my opinion to solely advertise each game, though clearly that is part of it.
The fact that there is something with Wakefield Trinity name and big pictures of players on it, is still advertising the game and the team. It isn't so black and white that if the details of the next game aren't on the board that we will lose customers. It's handy, but not the be all and end all.
I'd like it updated, but it isn't the mopst important thing

This - For me sometimes criticism of the club can be justified i.e. the highly contentious issue of stewards at the ground.
An out of date poster for me causes no concern - I’m just thankful that
A. We have a team playing in superleague
B. We won the advertised game and are on a bit of a roll
Let’s gain some stability at the club and attempt to grow on the back of that. Maybe even when we increase average attendance’s at games we can employ someone on a full time basis to improve the marketability of the club.

I am nowhere near a 50 years fan but nor I am a new fan brought in the recent years of Glover's marketing. To be fair, the poster called the club "absolutely pathetic" and anyone who wasn't critical of the club sycophants because the advertisement hadn't been changed quickly enough.
The poster who has walked away did so after being thrown out of a game for not handing over a bottle of pop, a game he had paid for, after many years of attendances home and away. I don't know El Rey, never even spoken to him (apart from a couple of words when chatting to Vasty), but I know who he is and I know how much he has done for the club.
I think there there is a marked difference in the outrage each deserves.
Concealed in all the venom there is a genuine point to be made about marketing, but it wasn't made.

Think the club killed 3 birds with one stone.
There is a poster in my local chippy advertising 3 games, think it maybe Hull, Leeds and Widnes.
It's even got Jarrod Sammut on it, it's that out of date!
In theory you might have missed the Hull game but there is little excuse for missing the other two.

Good priced and a 6 month staggered payment plan for season tickets next season should see a healthy increase in people through the turnstile.

I understand that, my quote about Sammut was very much tongue in cheek.
My point was that, it has little consequence changing the board on the outside of the ground, when there has been a poster advertising 3 games pinned up around the city for ages.

The only non season ticket holders that will be enticed to go to the game are the ones that already know about it; but don't want to pay the 22 dollar. Glover and his cronies have given cheap/free RL away, so why would the Wakefield public pay 22 dollar for something they were getting for nowt couple of years back. Next years ST prices are key.

If you're not in the know, like most of us, that seems a very fair summation.
Only history will tell us whether Carter is right on wrong in the way he runs the club, but it's his money and his neck on the line he he gets it wrong. If fans want to walk away, so be it, but I'd rather this approach from the club than the nonsense we had under the last lot.
Not as if anyone is queuing up right now to replace him. As long as we question decisions taken, what more can we do?

Yep ST prices for next year are key and getting the prices out sooner rather than later as MC has hinted, while the club is on a good run makes good sense.
The Widnes bring a mate for a tenner is a good start.
They don't have to shell out £22 for a game if they buy an early bird ST.
